Apparently there are reports coming from Portugal that we've signed him for £25million!

Dont know much about this guy but £25million seems like a lot of money for a left-back!

Yeah he's an attacking left wing back mate 23 yo.One of the most dynamic full backs/wingers in Europe.Bags of energy and pace, puts in good crosses. He can defend aswell.Always a bonus.

He's the player JW Henry was said to have been dissapointed not to get in January as Benfica wouldn't let him go until the summer for 30 Million Euros.

I told you that Liverpool cab driver was spot on a few weeks back mate...he called it Tongue Some signing if it comes off lads. However, I fear we could lose him to the clutches of Real Madrid and Jose Mourinho unfortunately.

Apparantly Brad Friedel is also poised to sign for us in the very near future as back-up to Pepe Reina. That is of course, if The Mirror newspaper is to be believed Rolleyes

Judge me by my size do you? Hmmm? Hmmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the force. And a powerful ally it is.

A bit strange that Friedle thingy, I don't know the deal with his Villa contract but to go from playing every week to which I think he holds some records for consecutive appearences to sitting on a bench is a but wrong so if he does end up on our bench I can only think it's because he's been brought in with the promise of playing in every cup game & then after a season or so becoming one of our goalkeeping coaches, other than that I don't see why he'd leave a good position at Villa.

Good old cabbie Yoda! Coentrao said he loved us since Istanbul didn't he lol Just have to wait and see lads. That'd be sound by me if Friedel came back.Good shout for the cup games and coaching role Mitchell. He's 40 now so i think it'd be a decent prospect for him.

According to Football365 Friedel is out of contract with Villa. Us and Spurs are looking at him, and its reported that we're offering him our 2nd GK spot on a 2yr deal with view to a coaching role. It'd be a tidy signing if we can pull it off.

Speaking of Villa, Downing said today he wouldn't be signing a contract extension. Came out with the usual guff of "26yrs old...crossraods in my career...yada yada yada". Only adds fuel to the rumours linking him with us. Could do a job if we got him for the right price, i.e. circa £7-8 million.

With predictions like this I think I might become a taxi driver in LiverpoolWink

I'd rather we spent a 1 or £2m more & got Charles N'Zogbia.

Ya, I'd agree with you there. He was monumental in keeping Wigan up, playing well in big pressure games which is a good sign. I'd prob just prefer Ashley Young ahead of N'Zogbia but if Young is like £8 million more, he's not that much better. I could live with paying a bit of a premium on Young because he's English, which would help us with the quotas when we get back into Europe, but he also only has a year left on his contract so it should lower the price considerably.

I bloody hate transfer rumours, it's all 'ifs' and 'buts', hanging something in front of us and then taking it away, but sure it keeps us going with fuck all else going on.
