RE: Football Banter
The Ranger- Celtic match last night Sad

Tackles flew in and players were diving

Three Rangers players got sent off.....
Players grabbed the referee to stop him producing cards.
They ganged up on him to get him to change his mind.

Lennon and McCoist had an altication after the full time whistle.....

The Scottish FA need to be hard, with very large fines and several months bans for some players.
And El Hadji Diouf does just want baning for a few matches, he needs to be shown the door from British football for good.
It would end the spitting, diving, petulance and falling out which happens every time he plays... He never learns... He has to go for good

lennon and mccoist has hand bags and glad rags at dawn.

the players that ganged upon the ref should be receive hefty bans and fines, same should happen in english football. i wish football would adopt the rfu law about ref speaks to the captain only, then captain tells the offending player or his team not to do it again or risk sin bin, this would end all the man-handling and surrounding the ref. i think if a players waves an imaginery card at the ref so the the other gets a card, the ref should the that card waving player a the yellow or red card that the other player is going to get.

hopefully blackbrun tear is contract up at the end of the season, no club would want the 30yr old baby.

RE: Football Banter
Rugby Union certainly has got it right regards discipline and respect for the referee. Like Bigguy says, only the captain is allowed to approach the referee to speak on behalf of his team, whilst the rest must keep their distance.

Whatever happened to the rule a few years ago where free-kicks were brought forward ten-yards whenever an offending player complained to the referee? Was it phased out or does it just not happen anymore? I've certainly not seen such an occurence for a good while now!

It's one thing the Premier League and Football Association making statements that the public want to hear such as Ferguson or whoever getting charged for this, that and the other; these bouts of hot-air from the ivory towers of footballing authority serve only to paper over the cracks instead of properly addressing the problems.

If the authorities' so-called RESPECT campaign is to be properly respected by players, managers and fans alike, they need to be seen to be taking the whole matter seriously, with the sorts of punishments that will genuinely deter transgressors from re-offending, such as issuing the likes of ten-match bans with some extremely serious warnings as to the further punishments that await should lessons not be learned. Then I'm absolutely certain that many of these cheating antics etc would very quickly be eradicated from the game.

But until the authorities start actually making me believe that they ARE serious about their RESPECT campaign then they and their pathetic empty words can just FUCK-OFF because I simply won't respect them.

Kolo Toure has failed a drugs test and has been suspended by Man City. Not many details available as yet.

I wonder what substance he failed for? Wonder how long he could get suspended for also, probably not as long as Rio though Thanks for that yoda. And good knews that the FA finally crack down on Man united since Ferguson got done today for running his mouth about Ref Atkinson. As man united always seem to be getting away with it.

thats proberly him out for 2yrs, stupid boy, football needs to learn from cycling with dealing with drug cheats ( no matter what drug it is).

lindor, i find it funny when someone like martin johnson, who is over 6ft weighs about 18-20st of muscle, being bollocked by a guy who is about 5ft5 weighing about 10st. martin johnson going yes sir yes sir 3 bags full sir. when they start to play rugby as kids they are taught not to argue with the ref and his decision is final or will sin binned, 15 v 14 in rugby is a massive difference unlike in football 11 v 10, the team with 10 men most of the time shut up shop for the rest of the game. in rugby players get hefty bans. i know rugby is not perfect but the players have respect for the ref.

Johnson can have respect for a 5ft 5 weasel of a ref but it's a pity he didnt have respect for the President Of Ireland when he captained England at Landsdowne Road a few years back. I've no time for that prick.

RE: Football Banter
the fergie thingy is a complete joke because he does it almost everytime they lose. the fa just effectivly slap him on the wrist adn say dont it again sir alex ferguson, can you bum us please. its one thing to question a refereeing decision but to question the integrity of the ref is lot more damaging. also the referee union doesnt help themselves by not coming out, after they finished writing their reports and debreifing, speaking to media about how the game went and explaining how they come the decisions they had made. this will help the managers, players, us and the media on how referees interpret the laws of the game. also stop managers from spouting the crap they do about refs.

in cricket the umprie explains, why he did not give a leg before wicket, to the bowler, also they state why the batsmen is not out as well.

RE: Football Banter
When just about all the marginal decisions in one crucial match go the way of one team and against the other, I feel it would be somewhat inhuman if a manager reacted like some fucking robot straight after a match.

Is that what you all want to hear straight after a match when a manager is interviewed? Do you all want to listen to a manager acting like a total dick like Rafael Benitez did one time last year when he kept repeating some answer to every single question? Is that what you all really want to listen to? Is that how you would all gain your entertainment? Is that how you'd all gain some insight into how the game works on the inside? Do you not ever want to listen to something controversial?
