Because those two channels, 902 and 915 have licenses held by a different organisation who have leased out the airtime to Bang.

OK, so does anyone know why Playboy leases their channels to Bang? Dont they have enough material of their own?

When in a hole stop digging. And dont shit in it. Bang did both. Too late.

(Bobek put it more eloquently than me.)

Also while they could argue that any given decision was incorrect or perverse (mmm) they would find it difficult to introduce evidence or an argument not used at the first stage - not bothering to reply ruined their chances.

When I read Ofcoms judgement against Bang, I wondered who this Chris Banatvala was, and what is background was. Apparently this individual seems typical of the middle class jobsworths that now inhabit the vast array of QUANGOS.
*Educated at St Andrews University (Geography w/ International Relations)
*Political Producer for Channel 4 News
*Head of Factual Programmes for The ITC
*Director of Standards for Ofcom

Here is somebody who has spent their whole career cossetted in the safe environment that is The Public Sector. Somebody, who although a senior management type, has never had to make decisions that could impact on their own organisation and career prospects. I for one would be interested to know the backgrounds of others in Ofcoms standards department. Bet you they're all of a similar type.
Just one more thought before I go off to bed. Was talking to an American friend of mine, who whilst living on this side of the pond, got to be a fan of the Babe Channels. He told me that in the US, The FCC regulated the free to air industry (ABC, CBS, NBC etc) with a rod of iron. Any breach of the licence is jumped on and punishment severe. But when it comes to the cable / satellite sector, The FCC are much more tolerent of what is transmitted. Their belief seems to be that where free to air stations broadcast into peoples homes over the public airwaves, cable needs to be an informed purchase by the viewer. If you choose to install a cable or satellite connection, then it is assumed that you will take responsibility for what you watch on that service, whether it's cartoons, news, sport or porn. You bought the system, you know what is transmitted, you choose what or what not to watch.
If only those guardians of morality at Ofcom could bring themselves to take a mature approch like the FCC, wouldn't we all be that bit happier?

^^^It's a good way of looking at it but we air pretty much everything that goes out on us cable anyway and most of what airs on US cable is still not that sexually explicit its more swearing and violence.

And from what hear even things on cable can still be dealt with if it's deemed to strong.

Well with these shite qualifications, he should never have been given access to the industry, let alone the job titles held. So he either knew someone in the industry who opened a door for him, or someone in his family has mananged to open a few doors. Or i'm going about things completely wrong, and should have my degree from St Andrews, instead of Perth College, and lets see what doors will open for me.

RE: Bang media licence revoked
It would a lot better if bang just went altogether and then restarted as another company, but with shows that are actually within the regs and they listen to complaints.

And for anyone who has read my comment some pages back about me and regs in spain, I had a phonecall and I'm now in crap for not following regs, and been told that Spain will now enforce the regs more and have something similar to ofcom Sad

is one of european markets where the regs where openly ignored a lot of the time and what has happened in the uk, usually affects other european countries industries as uk is seen as a leader, and this ruling has affected the spanish industry.
