This is just a tester post for seeing if their is any backing for a DVD release of the Extreme material that has been broadcast. I'm sure that Cellcast have quite alot of footage stored that is longer then what has been shown on screen, so a good quality, lenghty time film could be released. Perhaps if Cellcast see this then perhaps a study could be done to see if this is in anyway possible.

I can definitely put the idea forward. I'm not entirely sure of the rules of selling r18 DVDs in the UK, but we have people who will know

Most high street retailers have an Adult section, or at least HMV did. I'll check when I'm next up there.

HMV has a very small adult section in a small number of stores which consists solely of softcore 18 rated dvd's.

r18 hardcore dvd's can only be legally purchased through licensed sex shops in the uk (there will obviously be many stores which are not licensed and risk selling them in particular in areas where there are no licensed premises). Store licenses are relatively expensive and there are also rules as to where the shops can be situated eg relating to proximity to schools etc. There are however a number of chains of sex shops throughout the uk eg private, simply pleasure, pulse and cocktails and nice and naughty. Prices for dvd's in these are often cheaper than independent stores visit:

It is illegal to send r18 dvd's through the post within the uk. However it is legal to order them from overseas, go figure! You would think that in the current economic climate then steps would be taken to ensure that as much business as possible stays within the uk.

No contradiction. You could legally order a R18 DVD from a UK sex shop, its just that it would be illegal for them to post it to you. It is equally illegal for a foreign sex shop to post R18 strength material to the UK, and occasionally Customs seize and destroy. The only different is that the UK would have no success prosecuting a foreign sex shop in a foreign court for something that is no illegal in foreignland. And to add to the fun, while it is illegal to send porn, it is not illegal to receive it.

Also it is illegal to send porn through the post, even if no money changes hands, so you could be prosecuted for posting a naughty DVD to yourself. Those posties need protecting.
