RE: Babestation One to encrypt?
Something 'extra' from Babestation so far:

"Babestation may experiment with something 'extra' before very long"
"The channel is expected to launch in weeks rather than months."

"Since it would be extra it wouldn't involve replacing or altering any existing channel."
"You might be pleasantly surprised" if you suggest the charge for the new service is a nightly one or charged via the premium text service.
"In order to be watching it every night you'd have to pay for it every night."
"It hasn't been stated here that any new channel would be on satellite rather than freeview."
"We may assume for now that the charge will be nightly and that since the channel is deriving revenue in this way it will not be necessary to raise revenue by using telephone lines."

The above sounds a bit like the format of the existing Television X on freeview channel 93.

How do you subscribe to TVX on freeview? Can it be done with a regular Freeview box, or do you need a Top up TV decoder?

An ordinary box will do. It does not need a C1 card slot.
You have to phone them and are given a 4 digit pin number after you give them the I.D. number which is displayed on your box when you tune into the channel.
ie the 4 digit PIN is unique to your box and only works for that night.
You get 5 goes to enter the correct pin. You might get lucky without paying.
I think you get charged via your credit card.

I interpret "weeks rather than months" as meaning that the new channel will probably be on air in less than a month.

Quote:Well, first things first... The right producer has to be onside with my ideas/planning/direction and basically help set the stage, initiate funding, hire key personnel, get good location(s), etc. I've been in touch with one of the girls and a couple of other people about this...

Regarding payment options... Ideally, as many methods of payment as possible will be available to viewers. I'm looking into something similar to the "Sky Box Office" pay-per-view format, with maybe an optional monthly subscription. A mobile phone payment option has also been mentioned on this thread.

Thanks for keeping us posted. I'm getting more and more interested in what you've got planned. And the maximising of payment options is certainly a step in the right direction.

Quote:My original plan was for the show to be live, but I foreseen too many potential issues... For a start there is OFCOM, who would interfere too much with a live show, as it's easier for them to create problems within a live show format. Also, as the show will require more creative planning and direction, it probably would not be logical for this type of show to be live on a daily basis.

Ah. This is a bit of a downer. But not too much, as the 'alternative form of adult entertainment' has superceded it. I'm looking forwards to seeing what transpires.

Well, admin has more or less confirmed that Babestation are going in their own direction with the new channel. So I guess that rules them out of my plans for now...

I've been in touch with someone who works for Bang Media, but they have their problems at the moment...

There are plenty of potential options though, so who knows what will happen... Wink

I'm here to help - if my help's not appreciated then lotsa luck, gentlemen.

There will never be a channel where full explicit expression of sexuality is "allowed" in the sexually repressed UK, this country is going backwards in this area, ever heard the phrase "No Sex Please We're British" it seems the Authorites are taking this as the benchmark. A week on Thursday you will not even be able to visit you local Massage Parlour for a bit of fun without the "Stazi" Police being on your back, they are probably even spying on our bedrooms to see what we are up to, anything more than just "baby making" is probably logged.......nothing would suprise me in Control Freak Gordon Brown's Stazi State.

Yes The Watcher, from what I'm gathering it's pretty much along the same lines.

Have to agree; the UK hardly seems part of the 20th Century, let alone the 21st! Sad And, unbelievably, it is getting worse Sad Sad Sad

Sadly, the Tories won't be any better, IMO Sad
They all pander to 'middle England' and the tabloid media, who are constantly 'outraged' by pretty much everything, and want it censored, banned etc.
Politicians, of whatever persuasion, are only too happy to oblige Sad

Do the Tories have an equivalent of Harriet Hatesmen? She seems to be behind most of the repressive legalisation to do with all things sexual.
