Witness - Echoes of Bagram
Former POW Moazzam Begg returns to Afghanistan after nearly 20 years to check in on old friends and revisit the notorious prison where he was held, now not a prison.

Stranger Things -The Finale.

Zero spoilers so not a review as such but I'll just say I thoroughly enjoyed it and it's nice to have a TV "event" over the Christmas & New Year break....it feels like a long time since we had anything like it. Having said that I'm certain the nit-pickers will rip it to shreds...but whatever.

Also, they chose one of my all time favourite songs for the end credits.

Behold the field in which I grow my fucks. Lay thine eyes upon it and thou shalt see that it is barren.

Just finished it.

I agree. With so much build-up it was always going to be tough to stick the landing, but I think they came as close to a perfect ending as I could have expected.

I’m sure they’ll try to keep the universe going, so they’ll probably fuck it up in the future (no offence, George Lucas), but they certainly didn’t fuck it up with this finale.

I liked it.

Watched it last night, sad to see it end, but I'm glad I watched it. I started the show late when season three came out, but caught up quickly, no regrets.

It's funny, some people are never happy and they still claim to be fans of the show. We got an actual finale, an actual end to the story.
I thought it was really well done, it was never going to be perfect, but how could it be, everyone has different expectations, it was a satisfying conclusion.

I really hope they don't ruin another show by trying to cash in on it, know when to leave things alone for fucks sake.

Good to see Stranger Things has ended like this. Now that it's finished, I'm going to start getting into it asap. Wouldn't be surprised if some sort of spinoff gets announced asap

The Listening Post special - How Technocracy Became Our Reality
How the Tech Bros have succeeded where they failed a century ago, and which leading one was the grandson of the first wave of triers.

Talking Pictures: Psycho
Almost exclusively chats with Hitchcock, though Saul Bass got to try taking credit for the look of the shower scene, Janet Leigh had to put up with Mark Cousins, and best of all Anthony Perkins got lumbered with Esther Rantzen showing just what a hopeless one-to-one interviewer she really was.

FZ took a short pause from thrilling over Venezuela, to consider whether Iran might end up next on the list.
