10.8 To Stonehenge for the final. It turned out both previous entrants made the final, and one of them wins the big prize, perhaps after sucking up to judges that the show had inspired him in his painting journey. His paintings were pretty good, it seemed a close final.
LAotY 2025
10.9 To the South of France for the commission, as the winner visits Antibes, Aix and Arles because famous painters went there, and the Cortaulds gallery wanted a painting that somehow combined all three options. To be fair, all three places looked good, especially Arles. Anyway, judge Kate is AWOL for the unveiling (and apparently the next series too), but the other two like the finished painting, as does the gallery guy. They moved a Renoir to make room for it, tells you a lot.

Ironheart Episode 1.

Let's just say I won't be rushing to watch Episode 2. Apparently this has sat gathering dust for almost 3 years until they couldn't hide it any more. They really should have left it where it was Big Laugh

3/4 Maybe a break helped? He enjoyed Iowa and Missouri, learnt to love burnt ends, and discovered a sad fate in Kentucky.
JL's USoB
4/4 His final state is Alabama, which he quite likes. Then he returns home for a big civic reception for some of the friends he made in the USA, plus the likes of Tony Iommi, Joan Armatrading and members of (Continuity) UB40.

Overall, a series which improved as it went on, as Joe's evident cynicism was worn away by the warmth of the people he met. Also, another series finished!

Manben: Behind the Scenes of Manga, with Urasawa Naoki
One manga legend talks to another, in this case Chiba Tetsuya, in his 80s, filmed at work, and then watching & discussing it with his younger friend, despite covid restrictions. Surprisingly fascinating, and showed the process in such a way that it made more sense than it usually does. Still extraordinarily intensive, though. (I worried it was repeated as he was dead, but he's still 86 it seems).

10.x The compilation of series highlights, perhaps fresher to people watching over the weeks, rather than binge watching.
But weird to have completed my viewing of the whole 10 series, which I've mostly enjoyed.

Maggie Smith at the BBC
Celia Imrie narrates a tribute which at least includes some of her stuff from chat shows, and a few celebrity tributes from Judi Dench, Tim Spall and Derek Jacobi.

The Interview: Schwarzenegger - Power, Purpose & the Planet
Laura Kuennsberg hears some rather sideways ideas about how it's better to fight pollution than climate change, how California's fires are the result of power lines, and how proud he is of his son.

Late Night w/Seth Meyers
Many guests of note this week, from Uma Thurman to Mariska Hargitay, but the episode with Jason Mantzoukas was omitted, so I had to watch his bit on YT instead.

8.7 She's back again (perhaps since it's nearly the summer), visiting Bridlington (and Flamborough Head), and palling up with has-been Sinitta too.
SC's GDObtS
8.8 She's fairly sure it's Cromer, though guest Helen Lederer is enough to challenge any notions of logic. Susan goes to Sheringham for a steam train trip too. Maybe this is the last one?
