The last of this 2nd series speculates on the first "Vietnam film", and how America altered its view of the depiction of war.
CM: The Ipcress File
The 3rd series starts with Michael Caine's turn as Harry Palmer, the antithesis to James Bond, made by the exact same company.

HARDtalk: Colm Toibin
The show may have gone, but the repeats never will. Marking the guy turning 70, a repeat from 2015, when he was turning 60. Stephen Sackur was the interviewer.

Late Night w/ Seth Meyers
Back after a fortnight break, which certainly makes things easier for me to catch up on other shows. George Clooney was his first guest, and he kept his arms folded a lot. The other guests were Jennifer Simard and Christopher Sieber, who I didn't recognise as well but were fun enough to listen to.

CM: Kind Hearts and Coronets
Is it the funniest British film ever? Personally I doubt it, but a curio in enough other ways.

David Miliband returns to pretend that the new Syrian regime is all fine and dandy.

The Listening Post
American ceasefire attempt failures, and the "Logging Off Club" in which "young adults" try to make a physical effort to put their smartphones down for a bit.

Benicio del Toro has a new film out, and Stephen Graham had a rather graphic anecdote to share. After that, Dakota Johnson had acting to talk about, whilst Questlove had his excellent "music of SNL" doc to promote.

CM: The Dam Busters
The 3rd British classic in a row, this time looking into a certain war film. Regular contributor Christia Freeland manages to miss out, leaving just the usual 3 blokes to repeat each other. Funny that they praise some bloke for writing it (and the Great Escape and Reach For The Sky), but not that the bloody opening credits mention Guy Gibson's own book. They do give praise to the tremendous ending, though.

The Sky at Night - Greenwich: A Journey Through Space and Time
Dr Maggie hosts a special meal at the Royal Observatory for Pete and guests like Dr Jim Al-Khalili, to mark its 350th anniversary, but notably not Dr Chris. The latter does feature elsewhere doing history features.

Last Week Tonight w/John Oliver
The silly Mike Lindell trial, and the horrific problems with Med Spas.

The Daily Show w/Jon Stewart
LA faces fire and ICE, then Stephen A. Smith offers political and some sporting views.
