No outside publicity jollys here. Piers claims to be loveable and moderate and thinks Rupert Murdoch is fantastic and he himself totally knew nothing about phone hacking, though he said it in a blatantly qualified way, that no-one could find proof that he did.
Amol Rajan Interviews Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein
They had a few things to say about Nixon and Watergate, and a lot about Trump. They touched on the Hunter Biden laptop and why the meedja claimed it was a non-story; then they had a shorter 2nd interview after the E Jean Carroll case result. Rajan oddly went off on one about the importance of Rupert Murdoch as a force for good, and Bob & Carl didn't buy it.

The Media Show
Ros Atkins talks to the great Jeremy Bowen about his new Radio 4 show, and plenty of "in-the-field" anecdotes on his time in BBC journalism. Sadly no mention of his triumph hosting BBC Breakfast.

6 - LANCASHIRE
Jim & Nancy visit Leighton Moss to meet Chris Packham and some bearded tits. Both Nancy and Chris do a joke and Jim strokes his beard thoughtfully. Then he goes to Morecambe to paint the Midland Hotel from the inside.

On the whole, a really well-made series, and they even mentioned about Jim's hearing issues as a justification for Nancy being there since her love for ornithology seems less genuine than her husband's. I did get a vague sense of this series being Jim's nod to Bob Mortimer's fishing triumphs, but the viewers win because both shows are good.

John Wilson talks to the great Ken Loach, 86 and still annoyed, who cheerfully praises post-war Blackpool live comedy as much as 1960s Czech films among his choices.
TCL
Wilson talks to Whoopi Goldberg about how she's not a stand-up rather than a storyteller, how Mike Nichol took her to Broadway, and how Steven Spielberg took her to Hollywood, even after she dissed ET.

Amol Rajan Interviews Brian Cox
He's from Dundee, you know. Brian, that is. He was in Succession, which I never watched, and Manhunter, which I also haven't watched. And he left Labour over the Iraq War, in favour of the SNP. Rajan brought up Rupert Murdoch yet again. It's getting silly now.
