"Defending" BDO champ Wayne Warren got beat in the Last 16.

Richard Veenstra just beat top seed Brian Raman in the q-finals.

Mikuru Suzuki, also "defending" BDO champ also got beat in the last 16. Trina Gulliver got to be an on-screen pundit.

Frenchman Thibault Tricole managed to lose a decider to NI's Neil Duff. Duff didn't have a wikipedia page yesterday, but he does now. Such is success.

Michael Van Gerwen wins his third World Matchplay Title defeating Gerwyn Price 18-14 and his first since 2016 , MVG adds the Matchplay to the the Premier League two of the biggest titles in darts , MVG looks back.

Michael Van Gerwen wins his sixth World Grand Prix Title defeating Nathan Aspinall 5-3 , Aspinall came from 4-0 down in sets to 4-3 but didn't do enough to win which is a real shame.

To be fair to Ross Smith he beat some quality players en route to the title including World champion Peter Wright.

Glad for him , seems like a nice normal guy to , nothing cocky about him , i was routing for him to win , i remember him in the BDO years ago and i didn't think he could be capable of this it's amazing really
