Issue with Joining/Playing video in the Amanda - Caps & Vids thread

Some of these videos aren't working for me. It's videos split in two parts, I've got them both downloaded and I'm using that hjsplit thing to join them but it won't work. Can someone please help? Thank you.

What won't work? HJSplit or the joinned video file?

For hjsplit, put all the part files in one directory then run hjsplit and choose the '.001' file and click Join - it will create a .avi or .wmv or whatever media file.

If the joinned file isn't working then its probably your media player/codecs so, try:

GOM Player (http://www.gomlab.com)

or

VLC Player (http://www.videolan.org)

They're both free and work with just about any video format.

I know I'm stating the obvious, but sometimes it's a faulty download. Check the file sizes of your downloaded parts against what the uploader or the RS link says they should be.

everything is correct, the sizes are as they should be, when i join them i get another RAR file when i use 7zip to unrar it it says its an archive.

OK, so what's in the RAR archive? - it should be a video file. Can you extract it? Have you extracted it? Is the extracted file recognised by your media player? Do you get any error messages?

You need to give us all the info. Be more specific. I/we still do not know what's "not working".

when i extract it it says error its an archive but i only have 7zip to open it, and that the thing that gives me the error message.
so i still dont get the videos.

I'm not sure if you need to join them first or not. Try unraring them individually first and then joining them afterwards.

Ok, I think we need to know which files you're talking about.

What's the thread and post number you got the d/l links from? (just copy and paste the shortcut from the #no. in the top rt. corner of the actual post)

I've looked through this thread three times and the only clip I can see that's provided as mutiple files that require joining is in this post here (#53) http://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.ph...#pid265737

All other posted clips are of individual video files (.avi or .mp4 or .mpg) that can be played using the video apps that IanG recommended.


I've tested them and can join them without issue. Joining the two downloaded files (amanda_is_horny.avi.001 and amanda_is_horny.avi.002) using HJSplit should produce one file called amanda_is_horny.avi

Are these the files you're having trouble with Shalashaska? And if so, when you join them what is the name of the file you get after joining?

Yeah skate that's them, when I get that file it won't extract, it's says error it's
an archive.
