i really hope it don't happen again as someone who works in food distribution it was mad last time, we had lots of food the whole time and if people did as normal there would have been no issues , people have to realize it takes 24 hours from ordering at a shop to getting the stock on the shelf,

as for after 1st Jan i think thats more of an issue, the last week they have been trying to stock up but we are still only holding around 9k of food pallets in our w/house, that would only be 4 weeks max if people went mad on buying and it became harder to get stuff in, as for fresh that will simply stop for a few weeks until things settle down most the fresh this time of year is coming from southern Europe,

It's not so much that it is a lettuce free christmas it's the nation's pet rabbits that will be starved of the stuff
& the shortage of brussel sprouts & turkeys is more concerning...

Police raids sghould be happening to all known stockpilers at home.....

Tonight order was a lot smaller than expected for the south west and south Wales tonight so it may all be just the papers saying people are panic buying when it's just normal Xmas shopping,

I was at the supermarket tonight. No shortage of anything, except maybe shoppers

Same, I did my last Christmas shopping etc yesterday too and everything was fine

First day of my holidays today so I was at the Supermarket early the same as every year. It was a bit busier than normal but pretty much as expected for Christmas.

Everyone seemed to be buying sensibly as I didn't see any overflowing trollies and there was plenty on the shelves including fruit & veg but the likes of Voice of Doomsberg on the BBC won't report this.

Yet another attempt by the media to make things worse than they are.

Wind back the clock 12 months. Do you remember the great 2019 pigs in blankets shortage?
I remember the problem was caused because machines can't make them and there wasn't enough skilled eastern Europeans or whoever.
This year I think that they must've sorted the supply as Morrisons for instance advertise a take away breakfast bap full of them. Presumably they'll not need so many.
