It would be easy to read that as a freudian slip.

But I'd be inclined to take the more charitable view that he's just a moron.

Biden's biggest problem is keeping his foot out of his own mouth. Because, unlike Trump where there's so much shit most of it just gets eclipsed by the next thing he says, people will remember Biden's gaffes.

1. It makes him sound like he thinks he's already won.
2. Stuff like that is only going to fire up Trumps base and give him ammunition.
3. He's doing the very thing Trump's being accused of - politicising the military.

He should just have gone with a bland "If I win the election I'd like to think Trump will do the right thing and respect the wishes of the people" and left it at that.
