RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit (formerly Europe..IN or OUT??)
I don't agree with leaving the European Union at all, in fact I would like us to close down our government and hand it all over to the foreigners with each country administering an aspect of our lives that they seem to have an aptitude for.
Thus the French would run the railways and trade and industry would be the responsibility of the Germans.
The Poles and Romanians would provide the labour and the Dutch do sex.
The Ministry of Defence remains in the hands of the Russians and the Spanish control the weather.
The treasury is run by the Swiss who also let everybody finish their education there.
Wealth is run by the Danish and probably the Scandinavians do health too.
The Italians have more occasional days than we do so they'd best run holidays.
Since we're on a role with this we might as well let the Americans run it all as they shout louder and as we all know they're always right.
We'll still have to hold the reins on a few things though: Obviously we've a long history of success in pop music and our drains are certainly better than the Greeks say. And any marching about, we do ceremonies well.

I'm sure that the Palace of Westminster would make a nice hotel or something but you wouldn't wanna stay there because politicians would run it. Big Grin

^I've just been on the French railways... It was a near new train with an upper deck. It was on time, clean and despite the fact that we were a group of nearly a thousand people, no-one had to stand.

Obviously they've spent their part of the 33 billion euro on their railways. Rolleyes

Weird how things get spun https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cu...reak_w.pdf
I found the link in the comment section of the Independent, posted by IanS54.

Any MP that votes for this dodgy deal, who previously voted against May's deal, is an absolute muppet. The Tories are doing the usual shite, but Lib Dems and Labour who vote this through (which is likely), are voting for no deal in reality, because that's the Boris/Cummings/ERG plan...seriously, it's not a secret Rolleyes

"Northern Ireland has a brilliant deal because they will have continued frictionless trade with the EU."

So why are the rest of the UK leaving if trading with the EU is brilliant bladewave
Apparently, he needs to explain the deal to the DUP then! They are implacably opposed to it, and don't see these apparent benefits! Mind you, their issue is with identity (it always is) rather than economic practicality (although they also say that the deal is BAD for the economy) The business community say different on that issue!

DUP dont give a shit about the economy dont give a shit about anything but staying british

And I put this point - in terms - to my constituency MP! I made it clear, that I thought that the backstop at the time - seems to be even worse now from the DUP perspective - was a means to an end, and that our british identity and place in the UK, was still in our own hands - that the UK Govt would still be the one to oversee our political future, and make the laws we had to follow where it mattered!

I asked him how british we would all fail if our (NI) economy suffered (tanked) particularly in the event of a no - deal outcome, and that we might end up with a worse deal. This was all in trying to convince him to vote for the May deal. He/they didn't (perfect right to vote as he saw fit), and now look!! A 'border' down the irish sea (a DUP red line) and the party itself betrayed by Johnson, and now, after wielding such influence, being very close to the bus with no means of stopping it riding over them, and NO influence at all - except - that is - in terms of deciding whether to pull the plug on the 'confidence and supply' deal! I guess we will see what matters most to them now as a consolation prize?? either continuing to support a Govt they can't 'control'/play ball with, or precipitate a General Election and Labour/Corbyn in office!

Far too often, we have heard our name and our interests brought to the fore in virtually every utterance on the issue of Brexit! Often in terms of 'faux' concern for us when it suited, and from sources that under normal circumstances, couldn't give a toss - notably (but not exclusively) Labour! A party that would wave us goodbye towards a United Ireland without a single thought!

It's May's deal without the backstop and protections, so in reality, yeah, bogus.

Predictions indicate the vote could be a very tight call.

Think it might be close 1 or 2 votes in it

Macron might have done him a favour saying he doesnt see why they should give them an extension

they clearly are going to stall for more time and while the EU keep giving them a way out they will take it but its fucking risky

I'm going to say 25 - 30 short of passing and for an extreme loss of over 75
