Yet again English commentators are dreadful & woefully biased towards England's golden boy Harry Kane, courtesy of Jermaine Jenas & Glenn Hoddle

Started early on when Son made a fantastic run into the box crossed in to Kane who squandered the chance & the response was along the lines of "brilliant positioning by Harry Kane to get in there and meet the cross"

Next the commentator asked about the qualities of Lewandowski, perhaps the best number 9 over the last 5 yrs, the response "we'll he's just like that man at the other end of the park, a predator"

Next Spuds were awarded a free-kick & the commentator talked about this being one for Harry Kane. To my shock Jenas actually replied "really ? how often do you see Harry Kane score these?" I couldn't believe the heresy from JJ no doubt he will have his back lashed & nailed to a cross sometime today. It turned out that Kane did take the free kick & he put it over the bar. The commentator then came out with "he strikes the ball so well on a night like this" !!! He fucking missed !

Finally after the match & they were reviewing the goals & it came to Spuds second, a penalty to Kane, Gary Lineker said "he's the best in the world at this" and at that point it went from the comically ridiculous to just being sad. Sad that one of their beloved English teams, from their perfect superior English league, a champions league finalist in the year that both European competitions had an all English final were smashed to pieces & humiliated at home by a German team and they feel the need to say at least the English player in the team is the best in the world at penalties. It really is pathetic

I would go as far to say that it will be interesting to see how Spurs bounce back at the weekend after a mauling like that
That thrashing has to put a real doubt on them even qualifying from their group for this season.
I'm now wondering if Pochettino is planning to leave before the transfer window opens in January or will he be gone by Christmas?

You expect Lineker to defend Kane at the best of times. Maybe the foreign influence in premier league is the cog in the wheel that needs to be removed that gets English football back to where it needs to be, English football played by English players and therefor the England national team benefits far better.

The Premier League does not need less foreign players for England to do well, they already have an abundance of talent that on their day could theoretically beat any team.

The Premier League is arguably the best league in football I am not saying it's not, it's just not as peerless as English pundits think it is. The reason that is because it has the most money & can attract a high calibre of players & Managers/coaching staff. This in turn benefits the English players because they are playing under/with/against some of the best there is.

It's no coincidence that the best leagues in the world have the most diverse range of players. Yes England has quality players but a 20 team league each with a 22 man all England Squad = 440. Are there really 440 English players at the calibre of all those in the Premier League? I don't think any nation has that.

How fantastically Brexit of you to see that England is not doing as well as you think it should & surmise it's the foreigners fault

in fact more of the english youngsters should do what sancho did and go abroad to play thats the problem they stay at home called the next big thing in football and believe the hype and fuck there careers up

It's not just Kane where the English bias is staggering and laughable, look at Rashford and Lingard at United and Barkley at Chelsea. Rashford looks to be struggling with being a United player, Barkley has about 2 good games a season and as for Lingard, what has the man done in the last 2 years? He looks like he would struggle to get into a championship team, offers nothing in open play during a game, goes hiding and doesn't want the ball, just waits around for the ball to drop to him in and around the box with enough space to shoot, United play with 10 men when that joker is in the team. Take the Arsenal game for instance, he was totally anonymous yet I didn't hear anything about his woeful performance after the match, it was Pogba who was copping flack again.

I would argue that if these 3 players weren't English they would be getting slaughtered after every game, as they should be, because they are continually hyped up when there is zero justification for it.

Completely agree and Sancho is the perfect example, English players between 18 and 22 get massively hyped but get very few opportunities to actually play in the Premier League. I would say if they can get a move Holland and Germany they should jump at the chance as these countries have a very good history of blooding young players who then end up getting 100 appearance by the age of 21 or 22 at a good standard of play and being coached at a decent level.

Plus there is the added benefit of being abroad and away from the majority of the psychotic English press where this hype nonsense gets completely out of control.

Completely agree with that I just didn't want to go on and on in the post like a ranting Scots prat.

It's amazing the stick that Pogba gets, I'm not saying that he is blameless and that he can't improve but last season he was United's number one player for Goals, Assists, shots & passes in the Premier League. His combined goals & assists tally was 22. Rashford was 16, Lukaku 12 (all goals no assists), Martial 12 & Lingard 6

There is a comfortable cushion between him & Rashford but compared to the others he's running away with it & his position is probably the least attacking out of the 5 of them.

That being said I don't think he has had a goal or assist this season but the anti Pogba brigade has not sprung up in the last 2 months
