Reports this morning that Boris might be considering building a bridge between N Ireland and Scotland as a way of easing the Northern Ireland only backstop issue. Estimated cost is £15 - £20 Billion. Mmmmm Boris and big bridges don't have a good record Oh and the bridge would be built across a sea still containing lots of unexploded WW2 ordinance.

Meanwhile Eileen has told him a Northern Ireland only backstop is not acceptable.

This is not new been muted many times before

Lord Ashcroft has released polling pertaining to Northern Ireland. The overall question is very much on a knife edge & of course this is one pollster but what i find interesting is that a resounding 77% of nationalists feel less connected to rUK than they did 5 yrs ago

^Little surprise in these numbers among those of us who live here!! (very proud to do so btw) The DUP(ED) have - whether they like to admit it - or not -jeopardised the Union!! ''If there were a border poll'', and ''do you feel closer/less close to the UK'' are two sets of numbers that should see a U(u)nionist pause for some serious reflection!!
