Personally, I think the only way to interpret any of Johnson's actions is by accepting the principle that Johnson doesn't give a furry rat's arse about whether we are in or out of the EU, whether we strike a deal or not, or whether the UK ultimately prospers or perishes. Johnson only cares about one thing ... Johnson. Every move and decision, every breath and utterance, is calculated to further his career and electoral prospects.

(And please note how I refuse to call him 'Boris', as if he's the country's jolly, folksy uncle. The man is poison.)

And why are we always marching on Whitehall and Parliament Square, anyway? It's not doing any good. It's just making the Met police REALLY good at managing protests and I suppose the ice cream vendors in St James's Park are having a record year. We should march on Eton and Oxford University instead, demanding that they stop producing this endless legion of greedy, entitled, morally bankrupt shitheads.

Apparently Gove has suggested ignoring the law - if necessary - to force the governments position!! We need to remember that when he, and others like him, start lecturing us about the importance of adhering too, and upholding, the law as it relates to the 'peasants' - er…. everyday public!!

I hope - unless he believes the law doesn't apply to govt within the house of commons - people are ready to see the law is followed, and that failure to do so, will result in appropriate court action, and sanction if found in breach!

''I don't want an election...you don't want an election''!! Go and tell your MP that if there is an election, you are making them aware, that it is their intransigence that has brought it about!! Subtle threat indeed!

This may just turn out to be his biggest miscalculation - having bullied, threatened and now pleaded - even to the extent of trying to convince people that a deal is close, and the EU will see the' error of their ways' - he is now a 'hostage to fortune' Many potential rebels - who tomorrow will start the most important journey of their political lives - no exaggeration - are not seeking re election anyway, so have nothing to lose. It will come down to the numbers game among those who are prepared to sacrifice long term political careers/ambition on the alter of principle (applaud such people - whatever their politics all day long), and those who can't resist 'The Greasy Pole'

With a majority of one, I don't see where he gets his numbers from to prevent MP's taking control of business, and getting the legislation they published today, through!! The DUP numbers - if the projected rebel numbers hold up - will be pointless, Have I got that right??

He also miscalculated by saying all these tory mp's willing to rebel are remoaners who want to end brexit. when the Majority of them voted many times for Mays withdrawal deal and the brexiteers didnt

Depends how many Labour MPs back the motion. Some of those in constituents that voted heavily for Leave will be looking over their shoulders...
