I had to sign that when I did work experience at BAE in the 80's luckily it was only for 6 months.

I appreciate that he signed the official secrets act and in breaching that he had to go, I am just making a point that what he leaked was something that deserves to be public knowledge, considering that the consequences has the potential to undermine the security of the entire nation and the personal liberties of all citizens.

Not via a leak from a top secret meeting. Of course it would in due course have been made public as procurement decisions for the 5G network are taken and contracts awarded.

He’s always been a snivelling little toad though so I’m glad he’s gone.

Oh don't get me wrong i'm happy to see him go as well and I don't think of him as some sort of whistle blowing hero. I just feel that given the nature of the information and the importance of 5G, in due course is not good enough

The recall petition for the convicted Peterborough MP Fiona Onasanya has been successful. 10% of constituents were required to support the recall and 27% did. She is therefore no longer an MP and a by election will be held. There is nothing to stop her standing in the by election.

I think I'll wait before I join in with putting the noose around Williamson's neck. I suspect there's more to this than meets the eye.


As for signing "the act" the vast majority of people covered by it don't actually sign it. It's either mentioned in their contract of employment or simply a result of the nature of their work. Every pass I've ever held for an MOD site had a politely worded reminder that I was required to keep my gob shut or could be prosecuted under the OSA.

I've signed the Official Secrets Act too. Worked in a government office(unemployment) and handling people's sensitive infofrmation.
