The likes of Becky,Paige,Daniel Bryan,CM Punk etc & to a lesser extent AJ Styles & Seth Rollins have earn't their respect/popularity with the fans because they've grafted their way through the independent scenes for years to get where they are & haven't been fast-tracked their way through. The problem in general with the hierachy at WWE is that they seem to be obsessed with every wrestler being a great orator on the microphone where wrestling ability can take second place.
Thats because "good" wrestling matches don't draw tv ratings if you look at all the highest rated segments on raw since it started they are mostly promos or star power matches with austin or undertaker being in them, a perfect example of wrestling matches not drawing and seth rollins not being as popular as some people like to believe was when he did that gaunlet match a few months back which lasted over an hour lost 700k views from the previous hour

That maybe true but take the most recent Royal Rumble PPV event where general consensus across the board was that it was a pretty poor PPV aside from the predictable winners of both Rumble matches there wasn't any memorable matches on the rest of the card. But if WWE had added a few 'killer' promos into PPV would it have made the Rumble PPV any better or have more viewers tune in I very much doubt it. Trash talking promo's has always been part & parcel in WWE for decades so much so other sports followed up on it's success & have integrated it into their programmes ie boxing,UFC etc as it's a means of sparking interest (putting bums on seats) on events & increasing viewer ratings. My point is more towards the promo's that are nothing more than meaningless drivel wrapped up in a meaningless storyline that often gets forgotten about a week or two later.Thse promo's are just used to pad out a show when there are many wrestlers on the books complain they don't get any airtime on TV.But also WWE seem to have an obsession of turning wrestlers into trained script written actors & for all the charasmatic wrestlers like The Rock,Steve Austin,HHH, Chris Jericho,Miz etc who could serve up a verbal beating on trash talking alone there are plenty of wrestlers who look very uncomfortable whenever they have mic put to them.

I say bring back more trash-talking managers of the ilk of Paul Heyman,Bobby Heenan,Mr Fuji, Queen Sherri etc & let some of the less vocal wrestlers get back to wrestling ie not trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

The problem wwe has is they just do things without any build up like ronda vs sasha banks that just came out of nowhere there was no story it was just there if wwe had a bit of a plan that could have been a big deal,
Promos have always been needed to advance the storylines same with the commentators jr use to do such a great job at this, wwe has all these writers its been said there are like 20 of them and the current product is this bad vince needs to sort this shit out...in my opinion wwe is as bad now as it was in 95

Its not wrestling talent that gets over, its usually looks, presence and charisma that people look for, even though some people seem to deny it, im not saying Mandy has loads of wrestling talent but i'd rather see her get popular and pushed more than Becky or Sonya, the same way i'd rather see McIntyre or Strowman as champion rather than Balor cos they look like legit badasses

Im no fan of Cena and Reigns but i bet they would be more popular if they looked like Bryan and Ambrose, although i do actually rate Ambrose's character

Anyway last night an old school HHH would have pedigreed Becky, but of course no woman is going to get hit by a man unless its someone as big as Nia Jax

RE: The Official WWE Discussion Thread
I must say im really not looking forward to this years wrestlemania
This is what some of the card is shaping up to look like based off current events
Lesnar vs rollins
Ronda v becky v charlotte
Miz vs shane
A match with kurt angle im gonna predict angle and cena v corbin and mclntyre
I guess there will be a lot of multi man matches and as for daniel bryan no clue all i can assume is they are saving brey wyatt return for him so all in all not looking like a great card also will probably have nia jax vs a man on there somewhere...

Couldn't agree more with this, the match I was looking forward to was Batista v HHH but that doesn't look like it will be happening with HHH's injury and Batista with his movie commitments.
Quicker the Universal title is off the waist / shoulder of Lesnar the better IMO and can he wrestle a match more than 10 - 15 mins even at Wrestlemania
the Ronda / Becky / Charlotte storyline / buildup has had some good moments - the becky / ronda face off(s) but I struggle to enjoy a ronda match due to her lack of moves, she focuses too much on her UFC background - punches / takedowns etc hope she learns more moves in time for Mania
Miz / Shane tbh I have skipped / fast forwarded all of their stuff as tag team matches are not really my cup of tea - the Usos are probably the closest I get to enjoying a tag team match
I am not sure who Daniel Bryan will face, and also others like Orton, Samoa Joe, and Taker / HBK.

RE: The Official WWE Discussion Thread
Can anyone tell me who is the current NXT North American champion, please? I got Wikipedia saying Johnny Gargano is the current champion, but searching on Wikipedia on WWE roster listings & prowrestling.fandom.com site, it has The Velveteen Dream as NXT North American Champion & both Gargano & Dream can't both be champions.

Really baffled & confused here on who is champion here Huh

MK11 aka Mortal Kombat 11 - Spawn (DLC) vs Shao Kahn intro:
Spawn: Imagine Outworld free of slaves.
Shao Kahn: Over my dead body.
Spawn: Today's the day, skull-fucker.

The Tape there NXT episodes in advance and since the one i watched yesterday announced Dream vs. Gargano for the NXT North American Championship in 2 weeks time i am now guessing Dream wins it
