I suspect she will survive. The DUP have already stated that they will support the Government, and I cannot imagine any Tories voting to bring down their own Government...

Boris Johnson will back May in confidence vote

The former foreign secretary Boris Johnson has just been speaking to Sky News, saying the way May can get her deal through is "surgically removing" the backstop, which is what he says could keep part of the UK in a customs union with the EU.

Asked if May should stand down, he says the Tories "went through all that in December", when the PM's position was guaranteed when a coup to unseat her failed.

"The issue is not the person," he comments, adding he will be backing May and the government in tomorrow's confidence vote because the one thing he does not want is Jeremy Corbyn becoming prime minister.

Corbyn will probably bottle it again, if he thinks he won't win a confidence vote.

Evan Davis was interviewing one of Corbyn's cabinet tonight on R4. He was trying to find out what the Labour policy was on Brexit.... and failed.
Their policy is basically 'we'll see what happens and then make something up'.

the best deal available is to remain in the e.u. but none of the main parties seem willing or able to say it. they're intent in fighting over inferior deals because they're terrified to go against the democratic result of the referendum. now we know what leaving actually entails, surely a second and final vote is the only way to go. if leave win, knowing the actual legitimate repercussions, i will happily accept it.

We pay these inept politicians vastly overinflated wages and pensions, and we receive practically nothing back in the way of a stable caring government. All these elected MP's care about are themselves and their party, the people they are suppose to represent come a poor third. This Conservative government survive by bribing another party to support them, and as long as this is allowed to happen the people of this country are being misrepresented by a gang of millionaire politicians, evading tax for themselves and their moneymen backers. Westminster is slowly sinking into the Themes, its a pity we cant hurry this money eating monsters demise. Its time for radical change, the clock is ticking.

^^ so if labour could gain power by using the SNP they wouldnt do it. and what would the price of that supply of votes would be an independence referendum

^ The SNP would also probably want a new EU referendum as a condition as would the Liberals. Even then they don't have the votes to beat May unless some Conservatives vote against her as the ERG and the DUP have already said they will back her.

I see that Corbyn is already wriggling on the policy commitment to campaign for a 2nd referendum if he loses the vote of no confidence. Labour is just as split as the Conservatives, they've just managed to keep their divisions from flaring up whilst they watched the Conservatives tear themselves apart.

Hardline Brexiteers of all parties do not want a customs union but that is Labour Policy so there is no way Mogg and Co would ever support them even if they could stomach Corbyn as Prime Minister

Very few I would imagine. Here in Welwyn Garden City we have Grant Shapps as our MP who is/was the Conservative Party chairman before that we had a labour MP who lived in Cambridge!! and we got rid of her after she slated the town as dull I think it was, that was when Tony Blair was MP. We voted for her as she said we would get a new hospital built costing £500m but after we voted her out, that was never offered again - I wonder why?

Many pundits were saying that the no confidence wasn't likely to succeed but I think it still could be close.

IMO not very many MP's really do a lot locally I'm sure, but when it comes to issues of national importance many do not reflect the mood of their constituents since the 2015 referendum. I think we know far more now what BREXIT means and a second vote would be good but could it be done in the time frame left for March 29? I think not. I would feel the second vote result has to be the final vote and whatever the result that has to be the final say on the matter and MP's need to stop arguing, listen us once and for all, and do the right bloody thing for this country and GET ON WITH DELIVERING THE BREXIT WE WANT!!!
