Not sure if I've mentioned this before(so apologies if I have) but the Australian group Men At Work were recently sued, albeit it took over 20 years, over their tune 'Down Under' by the writers of a popular kids song because they said that a sequence on a flute sounded like 'Kookaburra Sits in the old Gum Tree' ( I remember this from my sister's Guide troop singing it in a revue once) Anyway they were successful in their argument and had to be credited on the record for writing that particular part.

In the video for Ashes to Ashes by David Bowie the scene where he and three others are walking along the sand in black and white has the late Steve Strange as one of the people-I think he is second from the left. He would go on to be a regular at the Blitz club and later had a major hit with Visage-Fade To Grey.

Small codicil to that. I remember hearing that it was because the customer didn't think it tasted very nice and sent it back. He then experimented by adding spices and then the customer was happy and thus was a British classic born-they have never heard of it in India and you wouldn't get it if asked for out there.

Agreed in India the Tikka Masala is not one their creations and I have read very different variations to how the Tikka Masala was created from the vague story's of those who did this and did that to add to it's creation but I'd like to believe it was as simple as a great chef in Scotland experimenting with spicey flavours to create the most enjoyable spicy curry dish, I only type em as I see em!
