There is something very unsettling about those images.

The fact he's using this tragedy to now deflect from the Russia investigation is sickening. Mistakes were made across the board with this, sure, but does numpty think that all of the FBI are involved in one investigation. Anyone who believes what he tweets to be true is an idiot, FACT!

He’s keen to deflect from the facts that he took around $30m from the NRA for his campaign and he removed the checks on people with mental problems getting guns. The FBI have 37,000 staff and there’s no way the Russia thing got in the way. Yes the FBI cocked up but they didn’t fire the gun - that was a guy who liked wearing his MAGA hat.

I see McMaster made a rare comment in that the Russian involvement in the election is incontrovertible, so presumably HE ain't happy about it.

It still makes no sense to me, but then...

The Russians were smart enough to do all this hacking, and yet also stupid enough to be caught?
And what for? At best, they destabilise the US for a bit, and at worst, they provoke a World War. Would it really have been worth it? Huh

It's pretty misguided. I saw a cartoon on FB advocating the arming of teachers. Well, that's a doubtful cure, when prevention should be the name of the game.

^ The NRA have previously suggested having armed school guards - they believe the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is to have a good guy with a gun. The idea that you can solve it by not letting bad guys have guns never occurs to them.

american democracy is a shining beacon in the world, unlike russia's. so to fuck with it and destabilise it is a huge deal, not just to russia, but to any dictatorial state in the world.

I'm still scratching my head with that thinking. Every other country that has had some sort of mass shooting has put more restrictions on gun sales, or banned certain types of weapons, but America has had how many this year alone, like 18 and still, nothing remotely in the way of more restrictions or changes to gun laws for to stop it happening yet again. Who the fuck needs to own an assault rifle anyway, I mean really.

Australia certainly went for gun control after they had a school shooting, and I would still presume anyone of my age or older will recall Dunblane - and while I wouldn't pretend the gun situation here is perfect, at least it seems seldom enough to be shocking.

18 US school shootings since Jan 1??! Surprised EIGHTEEN?!? SurprisedSurprisedSurprised
