RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit ( formerly Europe..IN or OUT??)
Wackawoo made some comments in a recent post that disputed the FACT that hate crimes had increased post the Brexit vote. So here are the OFFICIAL figures for the 3 months after the vote. These were widely reported in February 2017 when they were published.

"Below are the number of hate crime offences recorded by police forces in England and Wales from July to September 2016.

They are ranked according to the size of the change compared with April to June last year, which is the figure shown in brackets.

An asterisk denotes that it was the highest quarterly figure since comparable records began in April 2012.

Dorset 104* (up 100%)
Nottinghamshire 189* (up 75%)
North Yorkshire 64* (up 68%)
West Mercia 247* (up 64%)
Devon and Cornwall 220* (up 63%)
Leicestershire 213* (up 60%)
Kent 277* (up 60%)
Lincolnshire 78* (up 59%)
Humberside 140* (up 57%)
Dyfed-Powys 35* (up 52%)
Northumbria 394* (up 48%)
West Yorkshire 1,013* (up 46%)
Essex 376* (up 41%)
Wiltshire 134* (up 38%)
Suffolk 123* (up 37%)
British Transport Police 620* (up 34%)
Hampshire 463* (up 33%)
Sussex 385* (up 32%)
Hertfordshire 266* (up 30%)
Cleveland 159* (up 29%)
West Midlands 923* (up 27%)
Norfolk 130* (up 25%)
Gwent 77 (up 22%)
North Wales 56 (up 22%)
Lancashire 128 (up 21%)
Metropolitan Police 3,356* (up 20%)
Thames Valley 286* (up 20%)
Avon and Somerset 449* (up 19%)
Merseyside 477* (up 19%)
Greater Manchester 1,033* (up 19%)
Cheshire 195* (up 18%)
Durham 66 (up 16%)
Cumbria 50 (up 14%)
South Wales 276* (up 10%)
Cambridgeshire 179* (up 9%)
Derbyshire 117 (up 8%)
Staffordshire 237* (up 6%)
Warwickshire 106* (up 6%)
Bedfordshire 133* (up 6%)
Northamptonshire 79 (up 4%)
South Yorkshire 225 (down 1%)
Gloucestershire 55 (down 4%)
Surrey 137 (down 7%)
City of London 25 (down 7%)
Total: 14,295* (up 27%)

Police forces in England and Wales can class five types of racially or religiously aggravated offences as hate crimes: assault with injury; assault without injury; harassment; public fear, alarm or distress; and other criminal damage.

These categories are defined by statute, and have been used to compile the figures listed above, based on police force open data. Forces can decide to identify other types of offences as hate crimes, however, meaning the overall total could be higher."

But, any furture brexit vote will be due to the bullying attitude of the EU rather than some indepth finantial consideration.

But, as you seem to have missed the point, how many of those hate crimes are to do with Brexit? as opposed the suddenly reported and Brexit blamed; as tumbledryer pointed out here:

http://www.babeshows.co.uk/showthread.ph...pid2033682

This is the problem when you throw percentages around, like 100% increase, this does indeed look most shocking, but then if you look at the ACTUAL figure it paints a vastly different story.

Firstly, it states that it's a 100% increase in Dorset, the highest increase. This implies that before brexit there were next to no hate crimes whatsoever in the whole of Dorset, and after 104 reported case. The worst places being inner cities of London and Manchester where there are litterally millions of imigrants and/ or indigenous ethnics. The rest of the towns and cities on that list range from 25 to a few hundred. Total 14,295 thats in a population off 65 million.

Dude even post brexit thats one attack in 4547. Yes in an idea world one attack is too many, but those stats you have just posted have shown britan to be remarkably tolerant.

You may be content to run your own country down and the people in it, but Britian is and probably always was, on the whole, one of the most racially tolerant contries in the world. Even if there are peaks of intolerance with the sudden influx of people, several million since 2011 alone, this normally settles back off.

If you want hate crimes and racism I suggest you go to america and find REAL race hate.

In addition, it says nothing of hate crimes against indigenous white people, of which there most certainly will be but are not getting reported at all.

No, it doesn't. It implies there were 52 reported before and 104 after.

If you're going to try and manipulate the statistics, at least get the basics right Rolleyes

RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit ( formerly Europe..IN or OUT??)
Wackawoo as usual you are incorrect in many of your statements so I have responded below. Your comments are in bold

But, as you seem to have missed the point, how many of those hate crimes are to do with Brexit? as opposed the suddenly reported and Brexit blamed; as tumbledryer pointed out here:

Stop trying to twist the FACTS. Hate crimes increased in the 3 months post BREXIT. Informed commentators have indicated that this is because the idiots who committed these crimes felt emboldened by the BREXIT vote. It was also widely reported that instances of immigrants being told "to go home" were occuring in areas where the vote for BREXIT was strong.

Firstly, it states that it's a 100% increase in Dorset, the highest increase. This implies that before brexit there were next to no hate crimes whatsoever in the whole of Dorset, and after 104 reported case.

You claim to be intelligent and good at statistics. Seemingly you are not as bright as you think. A 100% increase in Dorset means that before BREXIT there were 52 reported crimes. A 100% increase takes you to 104.

You may be content to run your own country down and the people in it

Please don't make false accusations that I have run my country down. You have no idea about what I have contributed to this country.

In addition, it says nothing of hate crimes against indigenous white people, of which there most certainly will be but are not getting reported at all.

It is my understanding that hate crimes include any crimes that are racially or religiously motivated so your point is false.

RE: Europe, Referendum & Brexit ( formerly Europe..IN or OUT??)
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker has told a conference in Italy on the EU that "English is losing importance in Europe".
Amid tensions with the UK over looming Brexit negotiations, he said he was delivering his speech in French.
"Slowly but surely English is losing importance in Europe and also because France has an election," he said, explaining his choice of language.
He called the UK decision to leave the EU "a tragedy".
Laughter and applause greeted his comment about the English language, and he could be seen smiling wryly.

Are they taking the piss or what!!!!!!!!!!!

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

Juncker is a known alcoholic and gossip so that hasn't changed with BREXIT. He's never forgiven us for not voting for him. He certainly is not doing the EU any favours the way he is behaving though.
