Gravity(2013) Two astronauts(George Clooney & Sandra Bullock) whose ship is damaged beyond repair attempt to return to Earth. Beautifully shot film, the mobile camerawork almost makes you feel you are floating in space, stunning special effects, and tense and exciting too. A decent script and fine performances from the stars, Clooney, the wise veteran with the dry wit, and especially Bullock as the rookie spacewoman, who you empathise with all the way through the film. The first time I saw this film was in 3D on its original release, which is highly recommended. Also starring Ed Harris. 7.5/10

It's Alive(1974)

On the surface,a film about a mutant killer baby may not sound too good but Larry Cohen's film is unexpectedly moving and features a very creepy looking and effective baby, designed and built by Rick Baker.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 - 8.5/10 superb sequel, a good story, great special effects and witty one liners make this the best film of the year so far.

I agree. I went to see it last Friday & loved it. I actually prefer it over the 1st one, especially humour wise.

Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2

Saw the film yesterday as early a birthday treat which is today now. Right off the bat I thought the first one was better mainly because it new and fresh so you didn't know what to expect but now you do so it looses a little of its edge.
One of the films biggest strength is how it's able to hit you at a emotionally level from start right to the end, it's still funny but for me quite as funny as the first one.
Great special effects especially with making people look younger it's something Marvel have mastered every since Ant-Man. Along with the sound track which was perfectly chosen.
A couple nit picks I love groot but felt a little like there pushing it for toys and villains were ok nothing outstanding but that said with a particular twist and the gag about 80's tv series was funny. Out of the 5 credit scenes 2 of them worked for me. Logan still my fav movie as of this time but would still recommend people watching it.

8.9/10.

The Sentinel(1977)

A Michael Winner film starring John Carradine in good form as Father Halloran.A blind priest who resides in a Brooklyn brownstone that turns out to be the gateway to hell.

Saw the film last Sunday and enjoyed it very much I love the use of the older music I too think its better than first film but that is a good thing getting better as it goes along. Pity Die hard series didnt follow this pattern as Die Hard 2 is woeful in my opinion.

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

The Big Heat(1953) An apparent suicide opens up corruption and clashes with gangsters for a policeman played by Glenn Ford. Directed by Fritz Lang, this classic film noir has an intelligent, at times, witty script, and some top performances, Ford's character is well rounded showing his humanity, determination and bitterness. Gloria Grahame steals scenes early in the film, and shows her depth later on. The scenes with Ford and Grahame are a joy. Lee Marvin and Alexander Scourby put in strong turns as gangsters. The film is mostly remembered for the scene where Marvin scalds Grahame's face with boiling coffee, but is strong throughout. Also starring Jocelyn Brando,Jeanette Nolan,Willis Bouchey,Adam Williams and Dorothy Green. 8.5/10
