Outrage (2010) Directed and starring Takeshi Kitano, an initial engineered and seemingly trivial fall out between crime friends soon escalates to a war between and within families. A complicated, sometimes over complicated tale with a fairly familiar plot, enhanced by a stylish, quiet, slow pace between the violence. Also starring Kippei Shina & Ryo Kase. 6.5/10

LOTR: Fellowship Of The Ring, on ITV yesterday.

Not seen this for a few years, since my last Freeview recorder died. Looks nice in HD, but with it being shown in the afternoon (and on ITV) it was edited short in some places (Gandalf V Saruman, Aragorn V Ringwraiths...) Rolleyes
Not as bad as when they used to show the silly PC version of the first Robocop film in the 90's, but the edits were a bit glaring.

They don't seem to be showing parts 2 or 3 over Christmas either, which is a bit daft. Unless it's on over New Year.

Superman/Batman:Apocalypse, up there with being one of best animated movies you could ask for more Batman taking Darkseid and Superman vs Darkseid and Superman not holding back. Supergirl was voiced by Summer Glau Firefly/Arrow/Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chroncles. 9.3/10.

Thanks again to greenray for this recommendation

Gun For Hire(1942)

Frank Tuttle directs Alan Ladd who again,is in superb form as a hitman that kills a blackmailer and his companion only to be paid off in marked bills by his employer.A classic crime noir with an intriguing plot that is beautifully filmed and perfectly placed. Also starring the always excellent Veronica Lake.

Just had a look in my Xmas TV guide which runs 17th-30th December and parts 2 and 3 are not on. Looks like though itv are showing the entire hobbit trilogy. Part 1 an unexpected journey was on yesterday after fellowship of the ring, part 2 The Desolation Of Smaug is on this Friday evening at 8pm and presume part 3 battle of the armies is on new year weekend.

Itv are also showing all the Harry Potter films starting on Xmas Eve. BBC are showing all the Indiana Jones films starting on 27th December.

I was under the impression that that wouldn't get shown until next summer sometime, one year after ITV first screened part 2.

Rogue One.

It was great after a shaky first act. The cast was fantastic and the battle at the end was just epic. Oh and that Darth Vader scene made up for the fact that the prequels were total garbage. 4/5

If you ain't daytime wanking, you ain't trying.

Ultraman X The Movie: Here It Comes! Our Ultraman

More of the Japanese superhero action I love. This one being a movie tying into last year's Ultra series, Ultraman X. In this one, X teams up with Ultraman Tiga and the original 1966 Ultraman, with Zero, Max, Nexus, Ginga and Victory also joining the party in the big end fight.

This reminds me why I love "night" shots in Tokusatsu.
