Porridge(1979) A Prisoners V Showbiz XI football match offers a prisoner an opportunity to escape. A fairly amusing expansion of the excellent TV series which includes the TV cast (excepting Christopher Biggins)and gives a majority of them a chance to shine. Fairly clever, though it cannot match the packed in laughs of the 30 minute episodes. As well as the regulars, there's roles for Daniel Peacock, Karl Howman, Geoffrey Balydon, Barrie Rutter & Christopher Godwin 6.5/10

Invaders From Mars(1953)

William Cameron's film is obviously slightly tame by today's standards in terms of the visuals but its still a tightly constructed, nightmarish scenario,in which all the authority figures-teachers,police officers and even parents are working with the Martians!
The whole thing is a not so subtle metaphor for the paranoia and fear felt in America at the time against communism.

7.5/10

Watching desperado. 1995. This film never gets old. Action scenes are brilliant. Even Tarantino has decent cameo. And Salma Hayek just incrediblly sexy. Never seen actress look so good in a movie

Devil's Due(2014) Following a honeymoon in The Dominican Republic, a strange and horrifying pregnancy ensues. Overusing the hand held camera look which was used in The Blair Witch Project to the detriment of a pretty dull storyline. A pretty good lead performance from Allison Miller, however. Also starring Zach Gilford & Roger Payano. 5/10

Cyborg Cop(1993)

A cheap cyber punk rip off released to cash in on the success of RoboCop,the problem is that this clunker lacks the intelligence that Verhoeven's classic has.Shame that the great John Rhys Davies turns up as a maniac, holding up on a Caribbean island, where he makes people into robotic avengersHuh
Every bit as daft as it sounds, amazingly it spawned two sequels.
