Their first ever Olympic Gold medal.
Monica Puig has claimed a famous win over Angelique Kerber 6-4 4-6 6-1 in the womens singles tennis.

Elsewhere the GB womens hockey team have beaten USA 2-1 in their final pool match to top the pool and win their group with a 100% record. Could be important to keep Netherlands in the other half of the draw.

And Giles Scott is very close to Gold for Team GB in the Finn class sailing.

My worst fears concerning Nafi Thiam have come true.
Yet another PB for the Belgian this time in the Javelin of 53.13m.
Jess needs to beat Thiam by around 10 seconds in the 800m.
It looks a very tough ask.

Bronze for Rutherford in the Long Jump. Great competition with the lead changing hands a few times.
