The Hitcher(1986)

Jennifer Jason Leigh and C.Thomas Howell pick up a hitchhiker named John Ryder(Rutger Hauer)and soon regret doing so.A suspenseful thriller that teeters into horror,the transition done to perfection by director Robert Harmon.Rutger Hauer is terrifying as the hitcher from hell.

Three Witnesses(1935)

Leslie Hiscott directed this excellent and well acted crime drama following a murder within a firm of contractors after a takeover bid.Starring Henry Kendall,Gary Marsh and Geraldine Fitzgerald.

Die! Die! My Darling[aka Frantic](1965)

Silvio Narizzano directed the great Tallulah Bankhead in what would sadly prove to be her last film.In this,she is truly monstrous as homicidal,religious maniac.Narizzano was the maestro of horror and this was one of his most disturbingly frightening efforts.

Guns At Batasi (1964) A strong performance by Richard Attenborough as a strict, by the book Sergeant Major having to prove himself in an unspecified African country when a coup occurs. Fairly absorbing with a sprinkling of humour, also starring Flora Robson, John Leyton, Mia Farrow, Jack Hawkins, Errol John & Earl Cameron. 6.5/10

Star Trek, now this is how you do a reboot. The only couple grips I had with the film was the vilain who I thought was totally weak, since he was in the past why didn't he just alter timeline to save his planet. Secondly they couldn't save Spock's mother because she moved yet Kirk and Sulu were falling through the sky but they managed to get a lock. 9.2/10.

Dentist In The Chair(1960)

A really good comedy with Bob Monkhouse and Kenneth Connor.A hapless petty crook breaks into the wrong shop and steals medical instruments instead of valuable silver.Peggy Cummins also puts in some entertaining support.

Eaten Alive[aka Death Trap,Horror Hotel Massacre](1977)

Neville Brand,completely insane and armed with scythe,kills and then feeds his victims to a large alligator in the swamp out back.The alligator eventually eats Neville too.Tobe Hooper's death in the bayou film was supposedly inspired by the real life Texas serial killer Joe Ball,who in order to dispose of the evidence of his crimes,allegedly fed 20 of his victims to alligators.A sick but decent horror film.

I'm no time travel expert, but isn't it an accepted convention in time travel fiction that by going into the past or future to try and change a specific event, all you end up doing is causing unintended things to happen which frustrate your original intention ?
And the more times you try to go back to the same point and fix something, the more and more problems/paradoxes you create.
The minute you change a timeline, you create a parallel personal timestream for yourself from that point onwards; so there wouldn't be a way to change something in your past and then get back again to a specific point as if that event had never happened, because it won't ever be exactly the same timeline. You then have to try and jump into another parallel timeline that supposedly has been created by what you've done. But the very fact of you entering that new timeline,even if you can find it accurately, presumably will alter what would have happened in that timeline from the moment you enter it ?
I thought his motive was just simple revenge against Spock/Vulcan and it was never clear to me if he actually had precise control over when exactly in timeline he would appear, wasn't he just warping in and out trial and error ?

And it's a while since I've seen it, but the thing about being able to lock the transporter onto moving targets - isn't that the point that it's just a bit random thing to try and do, it's a risky process, sometimes you'll be able to do it, sometimes not ?

Personal I just thought he was a weak vilain aside of revenge there's wasn't anything special about him if they had spent more time in fleshing out his character he could good, compare to Khan how also wanted revenge but he was cunning, intelligent and ruthless. But him and Kirk it was slimer like a game of chess of who would win and they don't even appear on screen together and yet there's tension and danger. Other bad guys that come pretty close were the Borg queen from Star Trek First Contact with her using her sexuality, charm and intelligence and was totally evil and ruthless. General Chang from Star Trek 6, again full of personality even to a point where his the only bald Klingon (the actor came up with that idea), his ruthless, cunning and loved quoting Shakespeare. Even Bendict Cumberpatch version of Khan all tho not quite as good as the original version his still evil, Calculating, ruthless, intellgent and even creepy which Cumberpatch plays so well.
Also it's not a parallel universe but alternate timeline which Spock explained in the movie in detail this new timeline has been official named the "Kelvin Timeline".

Star Trek Beyond -8/10 highly entertaining latest instalment in the series reboot, the 2hr running time seemed to flyby.
