Lol it was niot mr who suggested that the players refused to play for him. It was mr 77
I personally believe that ferguson left at the right time. It was a move to protect his legacy. Rooney suggested that ferguson was not doing enough to rebuild the team a couple of years previously and has been proven right. Moyes kept faith with them and lost his job.

@ babelover
Firstly players should be allowed to celebrate with their fans when they score a goal. If a player makes even remote physical contact with a fan he gets a booking. I find it ridiculous that a player can get cautioned for just high fiving one of his teams own supporters.
Clubs need to be more part of the community like Barcelona rather than just acting as some faceless cooperation. Maybe players and coaches regularly visit local schools and even undertake some training sessions could build bridges between clubs and fans. Also having so many foreign players does not help.
It is unreasonable to expect them to have any knowledge of what it is to play for their respective clubs. Even a spurs fan would know what it means to play for westham and vica versa. Liverpool for example in the 90s had quite a few Everton fans play for them( Steve Mcmanaman, jamie carragher michael owen to name a few) You could see they knew what it meant to play for Liverpool and had an affinity with the fans as a result.

I hope I made a valid point in saying that there needs to be a far better link between fans and clubs

For me Ferguson knew the squad needed a massive overhaul and decided after winning the title that he didn't want to stay on and oversee that, left that job for his sucessor

I wonder if that could be the only way we could get Roy Sacked? a TV reporter claiming the same thing?

In Europa league qualifying, West Ham were 2-0 up through Valencia & Zarate before James Collins picked up second yellow card and Astra pulled it back to 2-2.

Southampton won 3-0 with Pelle, Tadic(pen) and Long with the goals

As a westham fan thank Christ for that. Our priority is making sure we are still playing premier league football when we move to Stratford. Not pissing about playing In that Mickey Mouse tournament which has very little going for it except the fact that the winner gets to play in the champions league 1st or second preliminary round next year. Why UEFA could not just give westham a few million quid for topping the fair play league, rather than giving them a place in a competition they want nothing to do with is beyond me.

West Ham could have turned the place down if they wanted to. Playing in the Europa League isn't compulsory.

David Sullivan and David Gold said in a statement: 'We are delighted to have won a place in the UEFA Europa League. Everyone at the club, from the board to the players and supporters, will be relishing the opportunity to feature on the European stage. It should be a fantastic experience.'

Wish they had said they were putting a low strength team before i put a 10£ double on with Southampton Fucking tenner down the swanny Hope you get relegated this season !!! Id expect it from big sam he did rovers out of a Semi cos he played a under strength side in a cup but thought billic had a bit of fight in him. You got Gunners on sunday you will lose that so whats the point

It's not exactly good pr for the board to admit they want nothing to do with the competition. In short they would say that wouldn't they? I don't thnk the fans, the players or Billic wanted anything to do With it. They used the games as basically pre season competitive friendlys. Now that it clashes with a premier league fixture westham have shown their true attitude towards the compeition by putting out a reserve team.
