Yes and I wasn't the only one , as numerous times it was stated he wouldn't of been sold , but him biting Chiellini was the last straw for the club as they felt he kept shining a bad light on the club with his actions . Because if you remember in his previous transgressions the club immediately came out in support of him but didn't this last time , which for many fans showed they were done with him .

so it seems like Gerrard has thrown his toys out of the pram and is leaving cos he isn't playing enough games, its only recently that he has been on the bench and there is a very good reason for that as he has not been good enough this season, he's was a great player over the years and i'd rate him as one of the best ever in the prem, but some great players have ego's and he clearly has one cos he thinks he should just walk into the team every week, ryan giggs and paul scholes stayed at man utd till they retired and they were sitting on the bench for the last 3-4 years of their career but they stayed cos they loved the club, they didn't swan off to the USA when they didn't get their own way

The club didn't go all out to defend him because they already knew he was leaving.... simple..

I think Gerrard let it slip last season Seriously though, great player but he is a passenger most games and should be coming off the bench like Lampard, we play better without Gerrard these days if Brenda doesn't fuck about with the team and play DM's on the wings and Right wingers at left back.

He is pathetic... is he even a keeper? The only thing he 'keeps' doing is picking the ball out his net..
