The whole contrived 'we are lesbians you know' thing, who fucking cares, it's bloody irrelevant.

but can they be lesbians if one of them's a lizzard? SurprisedBounce

could be lizzbians

RE: Dr Who
Sad
Well I decided to give the new geezer a fair and unbiased viewing, and whether it was just that particular ep or not, I just found it SO BORING. JL was as sexy as ever (gotta love that cute button nose) and there were a few snappy dialogue interchanges but overall I was well disappointed.
Shame. I have only recently caught a lot of the MS era eps on whatever Sky channel shows them, and despite some desperately deliberate over acting, they work quite well IMO. Still preferred DT but I have warmed to Smithy.
Not a great start for Capaldi. Maybe with better ep he will get going?

What I did notice was that early on in the episode much script time was given to how old this new Doctor is compared with the other recent ones.

I think Steven Moffatt was clever writing this first episode, get the elephant in the room issue regarding the new older than recent Doctors out of the way. Using Clara and her feelings to highlight what we were all thinking and deal with it and move on...Clever boy as she might say!

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

RE: Dr Who
By using Matt Smith in this episode calling Clara made me wonder if we would be seeing any more fleeting appearances of any of the other Doctors..

RE: Dr Who
Since Clara met all the others, it's stupid beyond belief that she should now have an issue with it.

And as for dealing with the age issue head-on - it's only an issue if you think it is one. Otherwise it's a problem for nit-pickers and the shallow. And you can't go through life just pitching to them, because they're pretty fickle.

RE: Dr Who
The door is always open for past doctors to appear again. I'm sure Matt Smith, David Tennant and Paul McGann would always be up for a crossover story. Don't think Christopher Eccleston is as keen as he turned down the chance to appear in the 50th anniversary show, but you never know. That's the thing with a time travel show, there's always that possibility of his many selves meeting. As long as there's a point to it - I mean we don't want past doctors appearing all the time just for the sake of it. If its occasionally for a good special, fine - but the last thing the show needs is overkill of the past right now.

I've read something about this coming Saturday's episode though, something which didn't impress me. Something which could blow up in Moffat's face and destroy the fabric of the show if it doesn't work. I hope it turns out alright. Fingers crossed.

RE: Dr Who
Can't remember if I've said this before, but I've mellowed to the idea of bringing back old companions for a one-off story, if the plot requires it (one at a time, mind). I doubt it would matter to people too much to see Peter Purves or Bonnie Langford one more time Tongue
