I think the 2 old friends are Cap America and Black Widow and the ghost is Nick Fury.

Nick Fury is seen in the trailer/promo for the series finale so for me it's just who the 2 old friends are

dont know Josh whedon always leaves a season with a huge cliffhanger i dont think it will all be sorted out in about 50 mins tonight im seeing ward as Angel ( is the same mean and moody look that angel had ) to Skyes Buffy had seasons of will they or wont they

killing ward off would be to easy and where would the 2nd season go if they kill off both garret and ward

good to see Fitz simmons surviving sort of guessed they would when realised at the height in which ward dropped them off the bus after the shock of him doing it had subsided

Don't for a minute think they will kill Ward off but as it's Americans we are talking about I'll be surprised if he stays as the bad guy. I just hope they have the balls to do that. It's not so much want Whedon wants but more about what the networks want that matters with TV series over there

as far as ward goes, whedon loves a bad guy redeemed (look at the spike character in btvs) so it could take a few seasons but i think whedon would see it as a challenge to bring him back from the dark side so to speak.

agree hannahspet, what a great finale to the 1st series. was on twitter and was watching the tweets about the finale and my jaw dropped when people were tweeting about the cliffhanger at the end. can't wait to see the actual episode itself when channel4 show it in 2 weeks on 30th may
