I sympathise with you lancelot, honestly I do, even as a dingle. The situation with WBA at the moment has a lot of similarities with what our muppet owner did at Wolves with sacking a manager when it was too late, with no plan in place, then bringing in a foreign coach who no-one had heard of, then of course the rest is history.

I doubt a black country derby will have the same pulling power in League One...

how can you say he is useless when you probably have never even hear about him or watch his teams play lancealot? I remember on here when you were all saying the same about when southampton sacked nigel adkins and replace him with pochettino, now look how he has changed them..

Give the guy a chance, just because he is not British coach doesn't mean he is a useless wanker, don't be so ignorant..

Fernandez - I don't think Lancelot is saying Pepe Mel's a useless wanker because he's not British. I thought lancelot was expressing disappointment because he's not known to anyone here or has any experience in this league - and the last thing I thought WBA would need at the moment is someone who has zero managerial experience in the Premier League. Also - remember that Mel was either rejected or turned down the job two weeks ago so this is a major u-turn. I'd assume that is a major reason why Lancelot's upset with it. And if lancelot had someone else in mind, as a supporter of the club he has a right to be disappointed if his choice wasn't selected.

I don't know the full details of what was said about Pochettino but I think many people here had reservations about him when Adkins was removed. If I remember rightly, lots of people on here were disappointed with that chain of events when it occurred, not just lancelot.

This is nothing to do with not being British, Fernandez. For the most part people are open minded on here and don't base opinions of someone on where they come from. In this instance, I strongly believe it's down to lack of experience in this league.

But it now appears that he will be the new West Ham manager when if Sam leaves

Yes we were complaining about Adkins being removed. But it wasn't anything to do with Pochettino being Argentinian - it was to do with the unfair treatment many of us thought that Adkins had received. OK so it's worked out and Southampton are a stronger side now than they were then - but we all just expressed an opinion based on someone losing their job which we thought was an unfair decision.

Maybe Mel will be successful, maybe he won't. We'll soon find out won't we? But lancelot still has a right to express disappointment if it's not the person he wanted in the job. Perhaps the terms used were a little strong but we're all over 18, I'm sure we can all cope with the language. It was probably said in the heat of the moment and lancelot is clearly disappointed about the chain of events occurring at WBA. As a supporter, he has every right to be pissed off with his team if they appear to be in danger of losing their place.

But you made a point about someone not giving someone a chance because they're not British. I'm just saying I don't believe that is the case.

I think that you misunderstand what I mean, I'm not saying that lancelot said that because Pepe Mel is Spanish, I just mean that if it was a Manager or coach from the uk or even a foreign manager who has worked in the PL before that lancelot had heard of he most probably would have said something different... when I said don't be so ignorant I meant don't judge the new coach before he has done anything or even picked his first team...

true, there have been some managers who fans haven't heard of before that go onto be a success, but a lot of times it ends in epic failure, the safe route is to get in a proven manager or one with potential, otherwise prem clubs would regularly bring in managers that have no prem experience if it always worked, what would you say if rodgers left liverpool and some random nobody took over? i bet you wouldn't be pleased, you wanted liverpool to sign proven players over the summer
