Gravity 9/10 I really wasn't expecting much, believing it to be vastly over-hyped by the media... very happy to have been proved wrong. It's gripping, thought provoking, thrilling in places and visually stunning.

Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991)

This must have been the extended edition that was shown on Channel 5 last night. There were plenty of extra scenes which I'd not seen before every other time I've seen it and they helped to give the story a bit more substance. It's still Alan Rickman's evil Sheriff of Nottingham who steals the show with the camp and hilarious one liners. Having said that there's some unnecessary depressing scenes which make the Robin Hood legend look a sad affair. Overall though I enjoy this film. Panned by many critics but it's still exciting enough to pass away a couple of hours. 3/5

The Purge (2013)

Seen a lot of thrillers like this before so not a lot different. Ethan Hawke is not convincing enough as the lead and the morals and ideas the film tries to promote get lost in a sea of violence but a few twists along the way save it, just about, from total disaster. 2/5

The Omen (1976)

Landmark horror. Gregory Peck plays the US Ambassador to Great Britain who unwittingly adopts the Anti-Christ. David Warner, Lee Remick and former Doctor Who Patrick Troughton guest star in this timeless film that introduced us to the scariest child in the movies - Damien Thorne. Cue many gruesome occurences as the little one begins to build his evil empire on Earth. Little Devil! Smile 4/5

The Hobbit: Desolation Of Smaug. Very good 2nd film in the hobbit franchise carrying on from where an unexpected journey ended. All the cast have very good performances and the special effects, sound and action are brilliant. A very good cliffhanger ending to set up the final hobbit film which is out dec 2014

9/10

Die Hard - 9/10 - Total classic and technically a Christmas film too lol

and just in the middle of...

Die Hard 2 - 8/10 - I think this one gets overlooked, great follow up to a (repeats self) total classic. Plus, not seen it in ages and forgot how sweary it is lmao
