By the way lads the first leg of the FA Youth Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Chelsea at Anfield will be shown on ITV4 (as well as Chelsea TV & LFC TV) on Friday April 12th. I went to see Chelsea's NextGen game vs. Juventus at Griffin Park on Sunday and be warned, we have some immense talent, so I'll look forward to seeing them play your lot off the park

John Lennon - Now Plays for Botafogo and is a right back but would be worth signing now while he is relatively unknown here

The raw materials are there with this fella.

He looks quick, gets his head up, puts in a decent cross, can beat his man... I'd take a chance on someone like him if I was a manager, offer him a trial. He's been loaned out to Athletico Goianiense so you'd get him for buttons no doubt.

He looks very right footed but he can work on it.

What is Liverpool's budget anyway? Is there any definite number/estimate and I think I heard someone mention there is a certain age for players to be signed, so that may be taken into consideration?

Just to clarify, I wasn't saying I think we should sign Ryan Shawcross, But I do think he's a decent defender. I don't see why we need both centre backs to be able to be good footballers, as they'd come up against all types of strikers.
Not sure what our budget is, I doubt anyone does, I don't feel we need a centre back as desperately as some do. like I keep saying, Martin Kelly & Andre Wisdom.

Personally I don't rate Fabio Coentrao, he's another players living off his last international tournament. Don't read too much into him playing in place of Marcelo who also hit & miss.
I've seen Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a few times at both club & international level, I can see the appeal, especially at 23, but I can't help think he could be a bit similar to Adel Taarabt, I don't rate him at all. If you've got a bit of money to spend then Aubameyang would be a decent punt if cheap but I doubt he'd go for less than £12m & thats big money for us at the moment.

I don't want to sound like the ultimate pessimist, but I'd be very reserved about signing any player from the Scottish league, that is fucking shite. Yeah he was man of the match in the Champions League against Barca, but that was in the CL at home in front of 60 for so thousand against Barca, every player at clubs of that size (SPL) always up their game in that situation.

First time I've heard of the black John Lennon, I only watched the first 2min of the vid but I saw enough. He could end up putting Glen Johnson in Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Right Back Club, I'm pretty sure he'd settle in well With A Little Help From His Friends Lucas & Coutinho....

Ha! You may not be to everyones liking but you do make me chuckle once in a while.

I was having a chat with G&P the other day mitchell, I was saying that there are a number of very talented Brazilian players back home who would fit really well with what rodgers is trying to do and work well in our system, John Lennon is going to have a very good future, would be great if we did get him , if your interested I can post a couple of videos of the players I think would be good for us, you might not have heard of a few, would you like me to post them?
