I think if he did go we'd fetch around 7-8 mil for him, I heard a rumour zenit were interested in him.

If he did go a few CB's who might fit our system could be Sakho from PSG he's young, has captained PSG Strong Pacey and commands the defence.

I know it's not football manager.... he would leave because he is not getting any game time with Thiago Silva and Alex there... try researching a little before trying to be clever

not trying to be clever in the slightest, just realistic. if he did wanna leave PSG I'm sure there's lots of clubs he could go to and Liverpool, in the current situation they're in wouldn't be very high on the list IMHO.

However, I do think that if we keep Suarez which I feel we will for one more season we will be able to attract some quality if the money is there. his commitment will be a big factor though.

You are forgetting our history mate, we are one of the biggest clubs in the world, a young player would love to come to us to play week in week out and be a key part in building another great squad, if i was a player i'd much rather go to a club like liverpool, than somewhere like chelsea, other clubs targeting him are Arsenal and Newcastle, and no disrespect to either club but i think we are bigger than both...

well loyalties aside of course, Id choose to go to chelsea because they're in the champions league. and if we are as you say a bigger club than Arsenal and Newcastle why would be in for the same calibre of player as them?

Because he is a really decent proven young defender, and he is unhappy at his current club, Newcastle can attract very good international players without the Champions League, Ben Arfa, Debouchy... and thats without our european history... there is no reason as to why we can't attract decent players like Sakho..

You're probably right actually, all we live on at the moment is tradition and past times. We're not even challenging for titles anymore

I see where your coming from Mr77 but you can't take away our history, I know we are rebuilding at the minute and are in transition but we are still capable off attracting very decent players, I agree there are a few that we can't afford or attract but we are slowly on the up again while other clubs are slowly in decline or going through similar phases, Arsenal and Chelsea for example, neither are really pushing for titles and are fighting it for 4th place, thats where I see us at the minute, we aren't far behind those two clubs...

exactly. we can't live on past glories anymore. the Fact is that we're 31 points behind United which simply isnt good enough for a "big club"
