" Newcastle United can confirm that Chelsea Football Club has made an official offer for Demba Ba which has triggered the release clause in the player's contract. The Club has given the player permission to speak to Chelsea FC and therefore he will not be included in the squad for tonight's game against Everton.

Both Chelsea and Newcastle to some extent benefit from this deal.

I won't go into too much detail about Newcastle because I have said it all before that the team starts to play better, Cisse starts scoring goals again and the right hand side of our midfield improves.

Plus getting 7 million for a player we got on a free transfer is good business.

Chelsea get a good deal by making a 5 million profit from the sale of Sturridge. Ba should keep Torres on his toes and motivate him to reach top form and become a more regular goal scorer. Although I have a feeling that Benitez will still fancy Torres over Ba.

That's the thing ba ain't guaranteed starts and in the summer they are just gonna sign another striker

Exactly, I have a feeling they are going to be chasing Falcao in the summer transfer window, although its difficult to predict if Chelsea will get him or not. But if they do get Falcao perhaps Torres will return to Atletico Madrid, but maybe Atletico Madrid would just prefer to get the cash and get someone else.

Also sounding like Dunn Robinson and Givet if not gone are about to go

Ba's only gone there to make the numbers up, only thing he's interested in is money, im just happy liverpool didn't sign him, players like that id rather stay clear of

I could see Robinson going to Southampton. They are in desperate need of a decent goalkeeper.
