Referring to their bestest best friend (and usually, at some point at least, flatmate) as 'wife' is perfectly common among the babes, it has nothing whatsoever to do with their sexual orientation, just a term of affection.

indeed munch. women often in general call their closest friends or house/flatmate "wife" or "wifey" nothing new at all and as you say its a term of affection

Maybe U.K women, but not American women. The way darren stated it, gave me the impression that it was really her wife. It's like if he said "Jamie's husband/partner was there", I'd be like WTF?

I'm surprised I never heard this in all the time I lived in the U.K. Wifey I've heard, but only on TV, and never from other women I spent time with.

It's not something I've really heard conversationally, I think it's more common among particular groups, like the babes/models.
If you follow a few of the girls on twitter, chances are you'll see it cropping up quite a bit.

its very common if you follow many of the babeshow babes on twitter or facebook.. (or even some of the forum members like to call their fave models "Wifey" or "Sis" too #TrueStory ) Its a term of endearment...in most cases!

On the subject of wifey, but I remember that singer/rapper Will.i.am I think referred to Cheryl Cole and Fergie as his wifey.

So perhaps its quite common for it to be used.

The handthong returned in a great way last night with Lori on Babestation, so here's hoping Studio 66 will bring it back!
