there is speculation that the testimony of "best bro" hendcapie had an affect on armstrong's decision not to contest. it has been about 10yrs of bullying from le equipe, other radiers, usada etc about him taking epo or other stuff and he probably had enough.

For a start, this is all coming from the US cycling federation, there is still some doubt about whether the International federation will ratify it. Much depends on the 'evidence' they claim to have and if/when they publish it. The Tour organisers will no doubt stick by the International bodies decision rather than the US one.
Also, several of the runners up from Armstrong's winning years have also been banned for drugs, some for the time period involved, some for a period afterwards, but it would basically mean in some cases, taking Armstrong's titles away for alleged drug cheating, and giving them to another convicted drug cheat.

This year Bradley Wiggins has won the Tour, a gold medal in the Olympics and The Sports Personality of the Year he's also been Knighted in next years honours.

So next year it will be 'Sir Brad' .

GB cycling's performance director Dave Brailsford, who helped Wiggins become the first Briton to win the Tour, is also made a sir

Michael Rasmussen,who was dismisssed from the Tour de France in 2007 whilst wearing the yellow jersey,has been given a 2 year ban after admitting doping throughout his professional career.He has announced his retirement.
