Noel Gallagher declined to appear as he understood that there was a possibility of his brother being there.

RE: Olympics 2012
To be honest I think Paul Weller would have declined the offer of appearing at the Olympics even if he had been asked. Paul can still be a strange funny wierd sod at the best of times as Bruce Foxton told me when I met him a few years ago.

LOL more chance of Gordon Brown bouncing back as our next Prime Minster than Morrisey giving it a second thought!

Even more chance that Billy Bragg would have said yes if asked ha!!!

There were rumours Duran Duran had been asked to appear and I guess it might have been sort of appropriate for them to have played Rio as a hand over song to Brazil - missed or forgotten opportunity possibly???

I really don't care what anyone else thinks!!! Lovely beautiful Honey Scott IS my favourite very cute bundle of yummy Marshmallow Fluff!!! <3

RE: Olympics 2012
Morrisey was slagging the olympics off on CNN website so was no chance he would have done it

Noel will be happy later theres always a boost in sales when major events play songs means he will get the majority of the cash for doing sod all as he wrote it laughlaugh

why was there no ozzy now that would have been awesome

but it was weird that a projection of a man thats been dead over 20 years got the most audience reaction

is anyone else have olympic withdrawels

I think Ozzy ruled himself out with this comment:

"The Olympics is a total fucking waste of money. That thing is going to cost about nine billion pounds! That's a lot of money to watch some guy run around a fucking track. I could go to some gym and see that for free."

Rio in winter is hotter than London in summer. For example the temperature in London today will reach a high of 21 or 22C, compared to the forecast for Rio which on a winter's day today is for a temperature reaching 27C .
