Can someone tell me why in men's boxing there are only 3 rounds, but in women's boxing there are 4 rounds?

dont think much 2moro to look forward too. only medal chance in athletics is probably shara proctor, if she can jump like she did in qualifying! a few of the showjumpers are in gud positions in the individuals going into tomorrows final rounds so possible medal i think only one sailing medal available tomorrow and gb probably hav a slim chance of bronze but i think alot of things hav to go their way! gud to see mo back in action in the 5000 heats as well! still think we hav sum great gold medal chances cos i forgot about shanaze reade in bmx and kerri anne in the open water is the fave to win that! mo will win the 5000 metres guaranteed 6 medals in boxing as well even taekwondo aint started yet!

i cant tell u why but dont the women only box for 2 mins a round and the men for 3 mins? so the men actually box longer!

Yes that's correct, the men's rounds are 3 minutes, so they box longer than the women. The rules of amateur boxing don't allow women to box for more than 2 minutes at a time, so they can't do 3 x 3 minutes like the men do.

He probably did but if you said or did anything against the official line you would very quickly lose your privileges and could even be branded as "subversive"....which was not good for your prospects!

As a hero of Socialism he would have had a much higher standard of living and, of course, would have been allowed to travel abroad to fight in competitions - something which was unheard of for ordinary citizens.

Many people just made the best of a bad lot.

4 x 2 is commonplace in men's club contests and fights up to national level.

In the last olympics the men also boxed 4 x 2 minute rounds for the first time but it wasn't popular so they changed it back for international tournaments.

The women's tournament is still somewhat experimental so expect changes in 2016!
