But by cutting prices you are directly cutting your profit margins. Look around though, cost cutting is what every business is doing during this recession. Prices are not coming down but wages are being frozen and people are being let go. Cutting prices to stimulate demand is the last desperation step. In this particular case people are talking about increasing sales (in this horrible economy) by over 50% as if will be easy which I think is incredibly unrealistic.

You seriously believe that the channels make more money from their day shows than nights? Look at the TV ratings on regular channels during the day, they are abysmal compared to nights - why in your opinion are babechannels reversing this trend?

To be honest i don't know which makes them the most money , but some channels even when the country's economy was better not so long ago like Bangbabes and Elite used to let some girls go home at around 2am ish because of low call volumes in the early hours, they showed a simulcast of another channel or recordings or adverts on 1 or 2 of their channels . The night girls also get paid more , the day hours are from 5:30am - 9pm and are longer than the 9pm - 5:30am night time hours, so overall revenue from the day shows could well be greater than the night show because of the longer hours and girls getting paid less , but like i say i just don't know whether more revenue is raised from the day or night shows , also like i said Dirty talk is also done on the day shows . As for the ratings of the regular channels how many get great ratings during the early hours of the morning when the babe channels are transmitting , say from 2am - 5:30am ? , it overall revenue that counts not just the early part of the night and the day shows transmit at peak viewing times as well .

Going by the amount of girls babestation brings in, 7 for an 8hr shift and the fact that Elite are paying US pornstars to fly in for shows I have to believe that nights is where they make the most money or else the people running these channels have lost their minds and have no idea what their callers want as they are investing their money in the wrong place. If it was as dead as you say during the night why keep them on so long? Why not send 4 or 5 home at 2am and save a lot of money?

Either way whether days or nights are the most profitable (since we could argue this point forever and neither of us could prove a thing), I still think that they will not bring in enough extra callers to justify a significant price cut.

I would suggest that babestation bringing in 7 girls at night has something to do with the extra freeview viewers , Babestation before they got all the freeview slots used to use less girls after 2am and send girls home .

As for Elite they have probably lost their mind , the last time a checked (some time early last year)if i understood the figures correctly they didn't seem to healthy . This is what i found cash in bank £2,733 , Net worth £- 212,096 . Total current liabilities £1,028,759 . Total assets £573,783 ,
Elite also gave up their freeview slot because of lack of calls and the expense of operating on freeview (allegedly) . Elite does tend to send some girls home and use less girls in the early morning slot when call volumes are low , Bangbabes used to do the same and use less girls in the early hours .

I would hazard a guess and say call volumes in general for all the babe channels channels is the greatest between the hours of 10pm and 2am after these 4 hours i would guess that night show call volume gets fairly low for all the channels . TV viewing figures in general are amongst the lowest in the early hours of the morning hence why some regular channels stop broadcasting at this time , the BS Freeview channels use air time not wanted by other channels that broadcast in the day as they don't get enough viewing figures to warrant broadcasting late at night/early morning , so they time share with the babe channels .

To be honest i had forgotten about the BS day shows not being on freeview apart from a few hours early in the morning , so the Cellcast night shows will bring in more revenue than days because of the extra freeview audiance .

Just thought i'd mention that Cellcast generally did well last year and overall revenue was up by 9% compared to the year before , they just had a bad end to the year when revenue fell .

I spoke to a girl who used to work there and has been back again who said that calls were less than half what they used to be. Of course she may be bullshitting but it was an interesting comment and totally unsolicited and spontaneous so it was clear that she believed it at least.
According to the posts above, cellcast revenues are up 9% so they must be making their money somewhere else than calls to the babes

This statement below in black is a direct quote from Andrew Wilson chief executive of Cellcast giving details of the overall financial results of last year

Operating revenues which continued to be almost entirely from interactive broadcast activities in the UK grew to £20.9 millinon, an increase of 9% on 2010 . Gross profit increased to £1.7 million, an increase of 25% on 2010 . the group posted a operating profit of £22,000 , a significant improvement on the prior years operating loss of £444,000

Like i posted earlier last year was overall a better year for Cellcast and they actually made a operating profit for the first time in years i believe , but they have said themselves that they had a significant fall in revenue in the later part of the year that led to the cost cutting . Iv'e not seen any info yet about how they are doing this year .

Without going into all the financial stuff, the cost of broadcasting on terrestrial freeview digital tv is considerably lots more than satellite which is why so many digital tv & radio stations are only on satellite & cable.

Same with DAB digital radio costs as with Freeview and so many station Am & Fm only, Internet online, Cable or in some cases Satellite via Sky!

As with Freeview, overall costings for broadcasting on DAB radio are exorbitant and out of financial reach of so many radio stations including where I work.

Same as to why so many satellite/cable only tv stations (especially the niche ones) are not on Freeview, the extra costs enough for some stations to either make no profits or go out of business!

And I guess these circumstances might be no different for many of the Babe tv channels to.

I agree though that with calls at £1.53 per minute this would most definately put sooo many people off calling in or for long/longer calls too.

Although some might criticise xxXpanded tv (whose parent company like Cellcast is also another multimedia company!) I'm more than sure they've done their sums correctly and with their low call costs and one to one webcams at the cost other channels charge just for calls, they might be doing better financially than other channels.

Ok, they might have only one tv channel, 2/3 girls on a bed at a time and different picture quality, but their girls seem rarely off their phones, many of their callers on for 10 minutes or more at a time with return calls same night and some very long webcams calls too.

Some of xxxpanded's methods maybe frustrating to some on here, but the girls are paid well and it seems to be a financially successful business model for their parent company.

As has been said, slightly cheaper calls might lead to lots more phone traffic for the babe channels and at the end of the day better profits?

I think BS viewers are well used to 3 on a bed and poor picture quality
The cost of a call is not just £1.53. There is the connection fee that goes to the mobile operator to be considered and if calling, as many do from a mobile, the cost works out at about £2 per minute with an exhorbitant connection fee that varies from £3 to £4 on average.
The fact is many people do not have the same amount of money available to make the number of calls they perhaps used to. Living costs have gone up so much that people have to think twice before making a call that will add £20 to £30 a time to the telephone bill. Perhaps BS could bring back every so often the 75ppm calls from a couple of years ago. Might be worth trialling it on quieter nights to see if there is a marked increase in callers.
Then there is simply the question of taste. Do the current girls available to take calls, or the overkill of certains girls put many callers off. I don't know if that is an issue or not.
Some of the girls appearing night after night after night may be the only thing keeping the shows going, then again perhaps there may be many like me who simply switch over or off.
