It should never be about what nationality the Pope imo.
The overarching philosophy and outlook is the most important thing. It seems he wants to follow in a similar mould to Pope Francis. If so then all good as far as I'm concerned.

Therefore, if you still want a generous pension system you need to raise retirement age’s, and have increased immigration to have enough people to create a productive economy and provide generous care for all those old people.
