Having Edu as part of the backroom staff seems to be giving us a presence in the Brazilian market, hopefully Mari will have a similar impact to Martinelli.

This could work well in two ways, one that we get some decent talent & depth into the squad that can lift us further or even if they don't quite make the grade of a team looking to achieve better things but are half decent we can sell them on to another European team for a profit because market value here is higher than Brazil. Might be a good business model bring them in get them to a standard sell them on and build a war chest

He played very well in the club world cup against Liverpool but it looks like I spoke to soon as he has had his medical but gone back to Brazil. They were discussing on BT that there is conflict over the transaction as Arsenal want to loan and Flamengo want to sell.

I know that right now Arsenal's finances aren't at the top level but if you are going to bring in a new manager then you have to invest in him, especially as the defence is our weak spot, we really can't afford not to spend because if we can't get into Europe we miss out on the money and the exposure that that brings and sponsorship deals dwindle as the club does, it's cycle of rot

I can't believe I'm saying this but before he got injured, Mustafi was having a solid game. Depending on how bad the injury to him is it may force us to actually push the Mari deal over the line or at least bring a different defender in.

Thinking same thing his passing was good defending was solid enough but we deffo need one or two CB over the line to cover till the end of the season or buy one and get one on loan because we don't pay the 30 million for saliba think that's his name till the end of the season

Well it's been a bit of a rollercoaster but it has been confirmed that Mari has joined Arsenal on loan to the end of the season with an option to buy.

Good a much needed addition to the defence, lets hope he can adapt quickly, show some of the performance he did at the world championship & stay injury free.

There is currently talk of Cedric Soares from Southampton as a possible signing. He could provide good cover for Bellerin and he'll be pretty cheap as his contract is up in the summer I think

There is also talk of a defender from Shakhtar Donetsk, Nikolay Matviyenko though it was rumoured the deal was agreed it was said to be that it would only go ahead if they failed to sign Mari.

Got Soares on loan until end of season. I think its highly doubtful we will do any more deals today. At least it looks like we're keeping Auba despite interest from Barca although I'm fearful of what might happen to him in the summer if he doesn't sign a new contract. Not a bad couple of loan signings though in my opinion.
