It's supposed to send a signal if activated and presumably someone on the ground would be monitoring for the receipt of any such signal. More to the point, the Uninterruptible Autopilot System once activated makes the plane impossible to fly from the cockpit and people on the ground have to take over control and fly the plane remotely. Which brings us back to the theory posted earlier that MH370 was diverted from it's intended heading by someone doing exactly that, i.e. locking the pilots out and controlling the plane remotely.

So is it possible then:-
A) There was a hijack attempt but it was unsuccessful and the Uninterruptible Autopilot System was activated and the hijackers were overpowered.
B) Hijack was successful and then diverted the plane and used the system for their own need
C) Autopilot system was hacked and whoever did it had control of the plane. But would Al-Qaeda had acquired any technology which was sophisticated
to enable them achieve such a feat?
D) Malaysian Airlines staff coerced into engaging in a hijack attempt by unknown source.

Is it possible that the same system is used in such a way so that US military can conduct the drone attacks that they have done in the past?

Swissair Flight SR111 crashed off the coast of Nova Scotia in 1998 after an onboard fire. It had been en route from New York to Geneva and carried a huge amount of diamonds and other precious stones (worth $300 million). The recovery effort was highly successful and managed to retrieve 98% of the plane and the cargo, but of the thousands of diamonds and other stones on board not a single one was found, leading some people to question what really caused the onboard fire and whether or not the missing diamonds were even on the plane in the first place as they were supposed to be.

It is not speculation that is regrettable, so much as the character asassination of the pilots when nothing has been proven against them. They may have been heroes.

There's a difference between character assassination and a line of enquiry. In the first you are accusing, in the second you are just outlining a possibility which needs to be considered. Besides the pilots are very much part of the official investigation, as are the rest of the crew, and their every phonecall is being investigated and their every credit card transaction etc. It has to be done.
