He's going to sign up to the single market and accept free movement of people. It will be a betrayal on a par with tuition fees and sink the Tories.

It's definitely a U-turn. The Leave voters (like me) are basically being stuffed.

The over reaction on the markets have fueled even more scare mongering from the remains.

Whether it would be better in or out or not of the EU, this whole 'truenaround' and possible ignoring a democratic vote as left me for the first time in my life ashamed and embarressed to be British.

Gibraltar are planning talks with Scotland, with a view to becoming an overseas territory of Scotland rather than of the UK.

The storys in the news become more idiotic by the hour.

That really wouldn't happen.

This is turning into a bigger mess than the England footie team. But if this result was only advisory and NOT legally binding, are there ways in which a referendum result CAN be made legally binding?
If Boris has gone completely the other way, then, he should not have campaigned to vote leave or should not have got involved in the referendum AT ALL At times I think our MP's are like the England footie team...clueless and we must be looked up on as being a laughing stock not only as a soccer team and in the political world as well.

gibraltar has more need than most to stay a memeber of the EU than any other region than in the UK especially with the spanish still claiming its theres

get the feeling this brexit unit is going to come back and say not worth invoking article 50 because of such and such reason guessing by which time the majority who voted leave and seen all the mess its created will just simply say your right

always hated referendum Hitler used them a lot in the 30's to get into power and keep it Tongue Tongue Tongue

Talks are already under way, Sturgeon was in Gibraltar yesterday. Haven't seen anything about the overseas territory bit, though.

Quote:Gibraltar is in talks with Scotland about a plan to keep parts of the UK in the EU, BBC Newsnight has learned.
Fabian Picardo, the territory's chief minister, told the BBC he was speaking to Scotland's First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, about various options.
One possibility under discussion is for Gibraltar and Scotland, which both voted to remain in the EU, to maintain the UK's membership of the bloc.

Ms Sturgeon confirmed to the BBC that talks are under way with Gibraltar.

Northern Ireland could also potentially be included in the discussions.

"I can imagine a situation where some parts of what is today the member state United Kingdom are stripped out and others remain," Mr Picardo told Newsnight.
"That means that we don't have to apply again for access, we simply remain with the access we have today, and those parts that leave are then given a different sort of access, which is negotiated but not necessarily under Article 50," he said, referring to a provision in the Lisbon Treaty that sets out how a member state can voluntarily leave the Union.

Doesn't sound very feasible but at least they're doing something and not running round like the headless chickens at Westminster.

Another thing that's really starting to annoy me is the ever increasing use of the term 'Brexiteer' annoyed

It makes them sound a bit heroic, like Musketeers. There are no fucking heroes here, on either side.
