Mixed fortunes in terms o results, with the Div 2 match between Middlesex & Worcestershire providing the only positive result, what looked like a challenging target for Worcestershire, was made to look easy, as Ed Pollock blasted 113 from 77 balls. Pollock has made his name as an attacking T20 opener, & took the same approach in the longer format, which he has had limited experience in.
In Div 1 the only draw was the runfest at Southport, elsewhere there were comfortable wins in the remaining matches, although a compelling final day played out at Scarborough.

A vital thrilling win for Hampshire over Northamptonshire, by an innings & 4 runs, saw them overtake Surrey at the top, taking an 8 point lead, but having played one more game. Fuller took the final wicket with rain falling, & the possibility of losing time, had Northamptonshire scored another 4 runs.
