Yorkshire came within 38 runs of avoiding the follow-on. Lancashire had 85 overs to take 10 wickets, & they shook hands with 7 overs remaining, with Yorkshire 6 down. With the light fading & 2 spinners in action, I assumed that taking the 2nd new ball wasn't an option.
Harry Brook played a mature innings, to finish 82 not out, & is the Division 1 leading run scorer, with 758 at an average of 151.60. he is making it very hard for England to not select him for the 1st Test against New Zealand.
The final day was better than good! From a cast iron draw to a finger grab draw for the Yorkies. I was very surprised actually, that they agreed to pull the plug when they did! Yes they were restricted to their spin bowling attack because of the light, but they were making inroads, so I personally thought that those four remaining wickets were there for the taking. Nevertheless, another fine example of cricket entertainment from this supposed poor championship structure.

I was listening to one tweet being read out (the sender asked for a response from DT etc which wasn't forthcoming) from someone that said that test match entry should be conditional upon attending some CC cricket, on the basis that many of those who gain entry to Tests, don't bother with the domestic game, while many who do, and are loyal to it, are effectively 'locked - out' of gaining entry to International Test matches (notably the Ashes) as the tickets are snapped up by what I will respectfully call the 'bandwagon supporter' I have long thought that the idea had some merit. What does anyone else think??
I was more than surprised at the early finish. Usually Rose matches have a bit of niggle with no quarter given, still, that's 11 home Roses matches without a loss for Yorkshire, a solid record.
A great idea concerning tickets. but to be fair, this does actually happen, to a degree, at least at Headingley. Yorkshire members get allocated discount tickets for Tests, I can speak for what happens at other Test venues.

Round 6 Review
Somerset make in 2 wins in 2, with a commanding victory over Gloucestershire. Built around another solid batting display. with captain Abell making 142 & Leach in the wickets.
The game of the round came in Division 2 with a good battle, as Durham overcame Glamorgan. the home side made a modest 311 after being put in, but soon had Glamorgan in trouble, at 63-4 & 163-7, before Billy Root, batting at No.8 made 88, with good support from the lower order, which gave them an unlikely 54 run, 1st innings lead. Then 9 of the 10 wickets fell to Aussie bowlers, giving the visitors a target of 196. Durham's seamers then bowled Glamorgan out in 53.5 overs, with Potts claiming 7, & an England call-up followed.

Round 7 Review
Somerset hit the buffers, after a recent improvement in form, with their batting fragility resurfacing. Lancashire didn't offer much of a contest as they were overturned by Essex.
Notts continued their form, with a commanding victory over Derbyshire, & Middlesex now top Division 2 after a win against Durham. Worcestershire sit in 3rd after beating bottom placed Leicestershire.
It should be interesting to see how clubs manage the next 2 rounds, which start on June 12 & 26, having the switch formats during the T20 Blast comp.
