Hello there everyone.

I hope you are all well and as happy as can be at these current times.

Today I am seeking assistance from anyone, if possible could somebody post here or DM me directly (if anonymous or private) the m3u8 (mobile links, iOS, VLC live stream etc etc) for the current S66 webstreams.

I haven’t done this in a while however I did record stuff years ago for here, I am hoping to potentially use VLC Media Player again to record, if this is no longer possible for S66 (or any channels/streams) please can you add information on why this is and any potential alternatives?

Thank you so much and have a great day!

Just seen your post!

To record a stream now the easiest way is using Chrome and VLC Player. You simply open the website showing the stream using Chrome, then click Ctrl+Shift+I and go to the network tab. Once there you will see a list of lines appear including one that starts with the word "MANIFEST", right click on that line then go to copy and click on "Copy link address".

Then on VLC click on "Open network stream", then paste the link and click play. The stream will start playing.

Hope that helps you Wink

I see studio66 have somehow managed to hide the manifest url on all third party sites that have their streams, including this one...
If you want to use the VLC method to record STD66 now you have to record from Rampant, who obviously didn't let 66 bully them Cool
^Thanks sm©. I'm always interested in hearing of such minutiae. I think things like this can give an insight into a channel's pre-occupations.

Indeed it seems to me there's a strange contradiction in that an operator can pursue a somewhat obscure path like this in order to combat a surely dwindling band of recorders (it must be a niche number left still bothering at this point) while at the same time leaving this forum to do its usual trade in the recorded output of the very same folk...

In fact, for a long time now there's been a feeling of bts trying to have it both ways on this issue. Each tweak in the direction of making user recordings more difficult merely highlights the discrepancy more.

So now we have...

66: We must hide this crux info and continue to cut back on the remaining methods recording as much as we can. (Even though, apparently, we can't persuade all the third party sites to do what we ask on it; and screen recording will ALWAYS be a thing no matter what!)

Also 66: No forum, we're not banning fta recorded uploads.

Like 'DON'T record, but if you do it's okay to put it here (unless the specific babe[s] say otherwise)...' I mean... Huh?! "Illicit" but not.

The only way I can make sense of this apparent contradiction is if I make a surprisingly naunced argument for 66's position on this...

1. They want to be SEEN as on the side of those babes who are against recordings being made of ANY of their individual output. So the manipulation of web code here is somewhat for personal rather than strictly professional effect.

2. They know to adopt a harsher stance with regards to forum uploads would be bad in some way or other. Either in terms of crippling a forum run by folk they get along with and/or in fostering poor relations with the wider user base.

So there's this, at this point seemingly eternal, suspect compromise at work.

* There's one more thing that maybe a factor here too... As this channel has a recent insistence on a more subscription based audience perhaps the idea of whether there'll be any truly fta material on their streams going forward becomes a valid question. If every basic web only stream has already been paid into from the get go in some way, users could argue their payments require SOME basic content done towards main cam in return; and if such content were to become a thing of serious consistency there'd be an increased reason to protect said streams against illicit copying.

There probably isn't any contradiction. The online streaming for S66 is handled by Firestorm and therefore all sites which receive the streams are receiving them from Firestorm in the way that Firestorm decide to provide them.

I seriously doubt that Firestorm refused to be bullied regarding their own (Rampant) site in the way that Sm© claims. There's probably some technical reason why Firestorm deliver the streams differently to the other sites.
^ That is not the contradiction I was referring to. I'm saying if they wish to stop sharing/recording why allow any fta uploads on this forum?
Unless there is evidence to support the contention that they wish to stop sharing/recording, your question does not need to be answered.

As above but where you used to click on MANIFEST click on CHUNKLIST should still work.
Nice one, you have foiled their masterplan Big Grin
