It seems that Horizon was trialled in the latter years of the Major Government (95/96) and full report of the issues were given when Blair & Co took over in 97. In spite of the dozens of known bugs, the order was given to go ahead with it! Also, Ed Davey's attempt to deflect any blame away from himself has fallen flat as it appears that each incoming Postal Minister was fully briefed on the matter by Civil Servants when they took office.

Now we hear that Gillian Keegan's husband was CEO of Fujitsu from 2014-2015 and later went on to take a role in the Cabinet Office working with the MOD.....

Not sure how I'd feel about that if I was a Postmaster. It's a bit like being allowed to resign before you get sacked.

^I'd probablt agree with that assumption SM, certainly does feel like that. But it had to take a tv programme and a million signatures to highlight the injustices of the scandal. Something tells me when Mr Bates appears at the inquiry (which I believe probably has been overshadowed by the Covid one) that's going to be certainly the firsdt real bit of testimony of what was really going on. I would certainly not be surprised if we see politicians being called in to give evidence, but to say who was culpable politically is probably difficult as this has spread over various governments.

A lot depends also as and when thr Met begin their probe. It willprobably take years to bring charges of any sort.

And how much trust there is left publicly with the Post Office now that this scandal had been pushed firmly into the limelight.
